Better Days Are Coming? .:. dCity Investment Progress

Can I start better this dCity report than by posting this quote from the @dcitygame account:

3rd Edition will hopefully be released in March :)

Woo-Hoooo!!! If this becomes reality, I think that we can have a nice price bump of SIM token, but also a lot more interesting game to play! More new cards, more new options like combining more cards, new technologies, and more... Let's try to separate things and take a closer look at the newest announcements from the game developers...

At the very beginning, I would like to clarify few things... dCity is a kind of investment game, which implies that you have to invest money (crypto, or however you want to call it) that you can play it... And that means that you can win, but you can also lose your investment... So, NEVER, but NEVER invest more than you can afford to lose... I have invested an amount that I can afford to lose, and I'm fine with that...

The first update in the past week was focused on the new game function, LOADING. It will allow players to load more cards into a specific building and their effects will disappear, but other effects will appear, depending on the number of cards inside the building! Also, all 3rd Edition buildings have been revealed in this post.

The second post was talking about the new technologies that will be implemented in the game. We will have two branches, Health and Economy and you can check all details in the post here... Besides technologies, you will find in the post more about changes in CRIME function and about 2 new combined buildings, Police Lab and University Campus...

I didn't progress a lot from my last report as I have chosen a weird strategy... lol... As I can't decide in which direction to go, I have picked the middle... So, at the moment, I'm "optimizing" my performances by buying the most "productive cards" (regarding population, popularity, and income), which are for me usually farms. To not get penalized for having a lot of unemployed citizens, I put my basic homes on sale... I have already described the process in the last report, also...

With this strategy, I did raise my population for 266 citizens, income has stayed more/less the same, but I bumped up my popularity for additional 98 points... I didn't sell any card, so that's positive (from my point of view :))

There is not too much to write regarding the price of the SIM tokens... The market graph says all... To be honest, I have thought that this news about 3rd edition cards will at least stabilize the price, but that didn't happen... I mean, it is kind of calmer in the last 3-4 days, but still, that is pretty low... For some of the investors, I would say that it's ideal to get in for a relatively low amount of HIVE to spend...

All that I have stated in this post are MY OPINIONS and SPECULATIONS about the game... Please DYOR and give me your opinion in the comment section... I would like to hear what do you think about all this!

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

Yea I started my account early when SIM price was high. However with the help of a few people and 2 grants from @boycharliefamily, I have progressed on my City and I don't think I am at a lost anymore.

Question: Do you think whether or not a law firm is a good idea given the high taxes? Also do you think a military complex would be a good investment also?

huh... It really depends on your focus in dCity... With these high taxes, I have almost given up on "standard" income... Because of that, I was lately buying mostly population cards, thinking about doing a "no income" city, but with a high population... But, I had to invest money into other things (read: @liotes :)) I stopped with investing more in dCity (except investing my profits from the game)

I DO have LAW firm, but I didn't pay too much attention to how much it helps with these high taxes... And I do have MICs to cope with these high taxes with WAR profits...

I think it's suppose to be around 10% reduction and I thought since I do not have one that the profits would earn it back to me in time. I think it would amount to a few extra SIM a day and would be a place I could put some of my unemployed. I might have to check in the shop every now and then for a better price.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I have checked your city, and maybe it's a bit too early for a law firm... It's a lot of SIMs that you can maybe invest in other buildings that you need more atm... Try to calculate different options and see which one has the best invest-profitability ratio...

Thanks then I'll stick to my strategy of Job Centers and Ad Agencies for income. Job centers for training immigrants and Ad Agencies to increase my chance of mining an artwork.

I had a similar approach at the beginning... Job Centers and maybe some buildings for "force" education also... ;) It will help you with discovering (mining) technologies

Seeing the SIM price in the market, the upward price movement is not significant. We can see green candles. I think it takes time to rise SIM price. It does not mean you cannot spot excitement in dCity. Some cards price shows that. ;)

You spotted that right! We can see that some building prices skyrocketed... People probably calculating which ones are the best for combining buildings...

I love the premise of this game and like playing it. I just don't have the time to spend on researching all the different aspects in order to make a good profit. I guess I just keep reinvesting what little income I get and not get wrapped up in the economics.

When we were discussing the tokenomics of our project @liotes, Achim and I were observing this game (and some other tribes out there) like an example of a good project, but not thought well enough about sustainability... It is hard to preserve the game token value, and I don't know for a game that doesn't have that issue... Is it possible to create something like that? Time will tell...

Frankly, I am still waiting to see how you will incorporate gamification into @liotes. I have not really seen it so far. I will be facing the same issues as I continue working on my Family History project. I, like you, am building a foundation to my project. Fortunately for me, I have the opportunity to create the gamification aspects before any investments take place. I am hoping your community will not begin to lose patience in a "game" with no gaming aspects.
