Learning the Game .:. dCity Investment Progress

avatar

Before starting to write this post, I said to myself that I will not whine about the game, the changes, etc... But, I have to confess that I don't have too much will to dive deeper into the game... Somehow the spark is gone, and after the implementation of 3rd edition cards and changes, I have just today took my time to explore more...

Made some progress, understood how the market page works, how sending cards work (it's better than it was), and how rankings are calculated... I still don't understand how we got only 0.01 SIM that one day this week, but it was or a bug, or this General Crime + Pandemic thing at the same time... Luckily, it was just one day...

At the very beginning, I would like to clarify few things... dCity is a kind of investment game, which implies that you have to invest money (crypto, or however you want to call it) that you can play it... And that means that you can win, but you can also lose your investment... So, NEVER, but NEVER invest more than you can afford to lose... I have invested an amount that I can afford to lose, and I'm fine with that...

Let us dive deeper into this report... Maybe to break things down, and if some of you Savvy players see that I have made some mistake, please help me and correct me in the comment section... I'm trying to understand the first row on this image... I suppose that those numbers are just probabilities and not REAL crises, but I don't understand how we know which one is currently active? Or we know that only when we check MEMO on daily payment?

As you can see, I didn't upgrade many things in my city... I have almost 50 citizens more, the base income grown a bit, but it's not visible as tax is higher than it was in the last report... The number that changed the most is my SIM Power as I didn't invest in anything in the past few days... lol... At least something got "greener"... :) I still have no idea in what direction to go and the next step will be to explore 3rd edition cards better...

If you are still here, let's take a look at my second city... We have more red color, but nothing to worry about as all that is just normal... :)

I suppose that my base income went up as I have bought some cards, but it doesn't show because of the previously mentioned thing (thanks, taxes!)... I have increased my population by 42 souls which is actually awesome... As I saw, there are some HIVE payments for the Top 400 cities... I'm still far for my second city, but I will work on that... At least I have some goal and having one can help a lot in motivating me to continue further with the game...

After those 4 initial wicks that we saw (and still see) at the chart from the end of April, we didn't see more of that... To be honest, I have expected 1-2 more FOMO players, but that didn't happen...

Instead of that, the price continued tanking as it was before the 3rd edition cards release... Again, I was wrong as I thought that the "hype" will last a bit longer and that price will bounce a bit AFTER the release, but again... it didn't happen... So, in the past 4-5 days the price is going sideways and we will probably see some bigger move in one direction... Which one? Well, I have no idea, but I would say that going a bit more down is a more probable scenario...

There are some small polishing things that will be implemented in the game (I would suggest some FAQ and how to start tutorial for beginners), but I think that there aren't more "big and crucial" additions to the game for the next period... So, we have to work with what we have...

All that I have stated in this post are MY OPINIONS and SPECULATIONS about the game... Please DYOR and give me your opinion in the comment section... I would like to hear what do you think about all this!

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

The pandemic thing I thought I still had workers but maybe not confused on that as well. I had figured if no one was getting SIM that day we would see a pump in price but did we? Nope total flatline. I wanted to level up 10 central banks but the cost to do so is nearly 100,000 SIM right now I don't see many people jumping on board on the game the cost to entry is massive.

I remember that you mentioned something about investing in central banks in the comments on my last report... I don't plan to go on that "banking" investment at all.. I was avoiding all buildings that can be robbed before, and I will probably do the same after the 3rd edition...

Tbh, I still have no idea in what direction should I go... For now, I will try to get to the Top 400 with my second city... and try to keep in Top200 with the first one... Maybe I will get some ideas down the line...

The changes are all a bit overwhelming at first, but interesting nonetheless. For now I just collect my daily income, and will probably dive in deeper when I have more time.

Well, I'm in the same pot as you... I did dive a bit more today, just to be able to make some progress... at least something... But, definitely, I need more time to do better research...

I don't know either but I think I also got a 0.01 SIM income drop this week as well. I was thinking it was just the taxes but I could of been hit by a pandemic and other effects.

Again, I was wrong as I thought that the "hype" will last a bit longer and that price will bounce a bit AFTER the release

I listed some SIM to take advantage of the hype but yea it doesn't seem like there are a ton of people buying up SIM off the market. If it can stay stable then I think I will be happy.

Yeah, we were talking about the possible price spike in our last conversation... Unlucky that it didn't happen... I suppose that expectations from the release was too high and the "pre-release" hype settled down...

I have a feeling that we will see very soon where is the whole game headed...

It takes some time to understand more about the 3rd edition and what to do. Hive earning was only based on the population before, I think it is going to change soon. If it is implemented, we need to set a strategy accordingly to maximize the return.

I hope that we will not wait another year for that implementation... :) It will be nice to see that active and trying to balance those things... That would be a nice challenge :)
