Actually, I think it's not 100% auto vote, as the post has to have some quality to be upvoted... But, @achim03 will probably give you a better answer regarding this...

As long as the posts not spam I think delegators should appreciation because little appreciation will motivate to create better contets. Learn from steem how steem upvoter officials support new users with low quality contents but fresh. More days the users make better posts. I know we do not like steem but steem gain more new users than hive after hardfork.
