The Tax Experiment .:. dCity Investment Progress

avatar

In the last report I was talking about a possible change of strategy because of the high taxes, but, with the new president, the taxes went down... Okay, not really low-low, but at this level, around 30%, they are supportable... But, that wasn't the reason why I didn't change my strategy... It was more the money side (or investment side) reason as I invested my HIVE in building and supporting my Hive-Engine witness node...

Anyway, I did re-invest all that I have earned from the game back to my city, which is visible by simply comparing the numbers from the last post and this one... My dCity got new 355 souls and I have secured jobs for almost everyone (to be more exact, 3 of them are unemployed, but they will not wait too long)... Maybe the biggest difference is visible in the SIM income that the city generates daily... It is higher for 1567 SIM from the last week, but that is mostly because of tax going down... Also, I have pushed a bit more the popularity as it is one of the most important factors for population growth...

Maybe the most interesting thing to observe is the SIM price chart... As we had big spikes in tax the week before, and now they are more than 2 times lower, the price didn't react as many players expected... Yes, it has fallen down a bit, but still not that dramatically... It looks the higher (insane) tax experiment didn't succeed as it didn't "fix" the price more than the "normal" tax rate... I bet that the price would still go down, even with a very high tax...

I saw some people selling their cards for crazy prices, so it was nice to catch some offers and fill up the bags... I feel a bit more optimistic about the game even with the low price of the token, and I will continue building my city picking all those sweet cheap cards... :)

See you next week, governors!

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

I aspire to one day attain a level where I could even reinvest into one new card a day, much less over 5000 in income. Congratulations on reaching your current level and keep up the good work.

You will get there... No worries... I did invest a bit more at the beginning, but I run into other stuff, so atm, I'm on "life support" in dCity... but, it grows... slow and steady... ;)

Thanks for the comment!

Thank you for your encouragement. I'll just keep plodding along and reinvesting my earnings.

I am probably enjoying this too much, but the offers are just too good. Buy real estate cheap, wait for it to become valuable, profit. Easy. :)

hehehe... Almost like in the real-life... :) The only difference that cheap real estate isn't cheap atm... but it will come :)

(Btw. wine rewards are on hold for some time, as someone was milking the system... They will re-start it when they fix the SPAM/BOT problem)

Yeah, I just read about that on Discord. There's always those scummy greedy selfish people that have to ruin it for the rest. But hey, I got to at least half of the WINE requirement to call the bot later, so that's something. :)

The tax experiment didn't work at all lol

In fact, it may have hurt short term the entire game. Who knows lol

But I'm just re-investing and buying cards as much as I can...Seems to be working!

I think the same... It hurt more than help... But, people have that "goldfish memory", so I suppose that the game will survive... :)

I'm also reinvesting my SIM income back into the game, but I stopped buying from additional sources. There are simply too many areas that may be worthy of investment in HE, and too little available (Swap)Hive for me.

Oh, I totally understand you about that... :) I have the same problem, especially now that I set up this HE witness node... Buying workerbees is my new hobby... lol...

When things are a little shaky, smart people find that good opportunity to make their move. :) Yes, now we can get some cards at some crazy price. lol...

Exactly! Most of the rich people have built their fortunes in "shaky times"... We will see how it will go with dCity... ;)

You are doing a great job - your city is growing. I laugh because I started mine & never got back into it...however, I noticed my SIM growing a little so that's always a nice bonus...

Maybe sometime I will get back into it. For now, my main focuses are Splinterlands & Rising Star!! I got some butt to kick ha ha...

Keep up your great work, my friend! :)🧡

Achim is right... It's an accomplishment to play more games... SL is a time-killer (and nerve killer too... lol)...
No rush with games... it the end, they are just games... ;)

You have a great city! The growth is quite considerate :-).

By lowering the taxes, the game actually becomes me interesting for investors. This has a positive effect on the demand of the token and I believe in the long term this is by far the better strategy than to try to reduce the supply too drasticaly. If the taxes make the game uninteresting for the players, then the game dies...

You reminded me of my wife with this comment... She said something rational today, and I just answered shortly: "You are not a typical example"... lol...

That is YOUR point of view, probably mine too, and a couple of others... But, I would say that majority is scared by this token value dump... But, that's the same as in the regular markets...

After a small retracement of ETH today one of my friends asked me: "ETH is going down... The bull run ended?" :)

You got me interested. How can I get involved with dCity?

I have purchased some SIM tokens at a cheap price and waiting if it down even more. It seems like a good time to bag more tokens at lower price.

Indeed... There is no better time to buy than when the prices are low... :)
