Hive does not Discriminate on Geographical Location || Truly Decentralized

Life in a developing country is not always easy. Especially not in terms of financial ventures. International financial movements are even more difficult than local ones. Having lived in such a country my whole life, I would know. And along the way I have learned the ins and outs of maneuvering through these complex economic fields. Being a software developer also helps with the financial power part.

While navigating through global digital financial services the biggest problem I usually encounter is websites or web-applications checking geographical location through IP and rendering accordingly, often at my own expense. In the crypto space I encountered this at first with some faucets that had almost 5 times less rewards for developing countries. Another one I recently came by is Coinbase Earn. Having been on their waiting list for 3-4 years now, I don't think it will ever happen. Unless I move or something.

And then there's Hive. No geographical location whatsoever. Doesn't matter where you're from, you can create an account start blogging and the votes count for everyone. Developing and developed countries alike, the vote weight does not discriminate. Neither do any other requirements for participating in the multiple features Hive has to offer. While it may not be perfect and there is room for improvement, we can undoubtedly say that Hive is truly decentralized.

That's interesting. I knew that Amazon for instance, used variable pricing depending on where you were from and a variety of other factors, but didn't realize it was that widespread.

As an American when I lived in Germany, I was not prepared to have to wait for things like movies and tech products to be imported over to Europe as I was so used to getting everything the moment they came out. Canadians used to always complain about being left out of US product launches and now I knew how they felt! :)

As long as you can write english you can reach everyone here and your earning opportunities are equal for everyone. You get what you put in, sure you can get a massive lucky upvote but the more you post / engage the more you earn no matter where you're from.

I see a bright future for Hive if we play the cards right!

Yeah, those massive upvotes are nice to wake up to. But the slowly built up relationships and network are what count on the long run, because you can always count on friends and/or a possible fanbase. :)

I personally never had this many digital 'friends' whom I actually interact with. Certainly not on Facebook. The future is definitely a nice one to be had.

You're absolutely right on that last part. I met a lot of people in here, even joined a Portuguese Hive community and we talk on a daily basis.

Hive's amazing 😁

They're definitely not 100% about decentralization.
