PayPal Launches Cryptocurrency Payment Service

PayPal announced to its users in the USA that they can use cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. Paypal started the payment process in cryptocurrency with its application called "Checkout with Crypto".

In the Paypal statement, "it was stated that the automatic transaction will be completed if the user has sufficient cryptocurrency balance to cover the eligible purchase".

PayPal bought cryptocurrency and digital asset storage company Curv this month. This was the first digital asset company PayPal acquired.

Stating that digital payments and the use of digital currencies are accelerating, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman stated that they continue to focus on the general adoption of cryptocurrencies. He emphasized that Checkout with Crypto is now available to PayPal customers and they can pay using their PayPal wallet.

Microsoft announced that the decentralized identity platform ION has started working on the Bitcoin blockchain system. Visa has announced that it will use the USD Coin (USDC), a fixed cryptocurrency, for payments, and stated that they hope to offer more options in the future.
