If you could snap everything into existence on HIVE... what would you do?
Hello, SPIer's. I have a question, nothing really to do with investing is even SPinvest but if you could improve, add or remove something on HIVE, what would you do? You can do anything, the problem is more, how to decide? SMT's could be the holy grail that might never arrive and that's a bummer. Frontends in my view are still super piss poor. I personally write on 1 front end and post to another because one has autosave and the other doesn't.
You might be interested in some proper blockchain stuff, for me, I could flip a coin on SMT's are frontend that works with no bugs and looks like it's from this decade. I'd prob go with SMT's and hope people start to build on HIVE and then the frontends will come when the money comes.
Having SMT's on HIVE would be a game-changer for sure and even if it was not, we'd all have a lot more fun between ourselves. For defi alone think what UNTIswap has been doing for ETH and pancake for Binance. SMT's would offer so much more but the focus/hype around crypto is farming at the minute. Pretty much anything can be written into a smart contract so the sky would be the limit.
SPinvest would get a shiny new token and we could even rise our funds if we wanted to and change the whole way we operate. Weekly div's could be paid in a stable token, a SPinvest stable token 😐 and trading becomes a lot easier if we provide liquidity to a HIVEswap service. I know there is one already but a proper one with proper pegged tokens. Ah, sometimes I just lean back in my chair and think of all the amazing things we could do with non-buggy, easy to use SMT's.
As for the actual HIVE blockchain itself, I have no complaints. Free 3 second transactions if you have a little HIVE powered up, usernames for address makes it way easier, safer and faster to make transactions because you can sends HIVE to an account that does not exist. Decentralized and ready to be noticed by some crypto whales. Pretty much anyone with any influence in the crypto world will do. Everyone expects Justin Sun, we'll take bitconnect's Carlos over Justin any day of the week.
What would you do?
If you could do anything on HIVE, you had the power to snap your fingers and puff, it's done, what would it be? What you change the rewards pool, get rid of downvoting, make it so that witness votes expire every 90 days. Would you throw $1-5 million at advertising the blockchain, are to build a flagship frontend that's user friendly and visually appealing? You could do anything, what would you do?
Let me in the comments below. I told you I'd snap SMT's into existence cause i think it would open the game up and possibly push HIVE into the top 100 tokens leaving STEEM in its dust.

I would scrap the token and have a wrapped Satoshi as the platforms monetary token!
Integrate lightning an the liquid network which would tap into all Bitcoiners making it more attractive for people to use than a low liquidity coin
They could move value in and out without needing exchange listing since it’s all Bitcoin
Bitcoin businesses would have an incentive to support it from miners to wallets and push community and Advertsing and tipping of content
I think it would make life so much easier and more attractive to people to use
On the surface this seems like a great idea to someone like me who knows nothing about it. I'd like to hear further discussion on this.

Layer-1 Hive SMT’s seems to be a dead idea, AFAIK @blocktrades and a bunch of other devs firmly believe SMT’s should be Layer-2.

I would change the down vote system. If you wanted to down vote someone for reward dispute then the down vote would remove the largest rewards issued and all reputation and financial adverse effects would be placed on the over voter/s. The person making the post has zero control over who votes for them so why should they lose reputation and lose rewards. Remove all the rewards the big voter would have given from his curation reward. The reward is balanced, and the author still get the intended reward.
Im funny with downvotes. I like the idea but they are being used wrong and as a weapon. I think they should be used to take away rewards from authors that are just shit posting. Someone daily walk actifit 4-5 line and a snapshot post should never get $100. I dont see it as my reward until it pays out. The idea on paper is good but the execution is bad and witness's should have known downvoting would be abused in the same way upvoting is.
It's an interesting topic for sure and if i had to personally pick between either having are not having downvoting, i'd pick not having.

The thing is the author is not responsible for who votes for them. The rewards can still be removed and returned to the reward pool by directly taking the amount out of the curation side, that will then impact the excessive awards, because then there would be none available, (curation wise), for the people casting the excessive reward votes.
