Leofinance: Development Is Fueling Everything

avatar

The Leofinance team was quiet of late. They did not put forth a lot of communication yet that did not mean that things were not happening. In fact, as we are seeing, there is a lot of development taking place.

It appears the roster of developers is expanding. There are a few more to join the team which is going to help things moving forward.

We are seeing this in a few areas.

Leofinance.io

We just got a new update to the main website. This is something that was in the works for a while and now is live. There are still a few bugs to clear up but a few additional features are working.

The biggest one is the notifications which many were asking for. This allows each person to see who replied to them. It should help engagement since all messages can be seen.

There were a few other things that were updated including the uploading of images which were problematic at times.

  • Notifications
  • Mobile Post Feed Layout Update
  • Device Layout Optimizations
  • Footer Updates
  • Navbar Styling and App Link Update
  • Major bug fixes including Image Uploading issues

LeoBridge

This was another application that was discussed over the last couple months and was eagerly anticipated. It finally rolled out in MVP form. The bridge is working although under "testing" conditions. Over time, they will increase the limit of what can be converted to between the two chains.

Right now, it allows for interaction between the Ethereum and Binance chains. It is expected that we will see more chains added. This entire premise behind this is interoperability among different ecosystems. It will allow for Leofinance to be a central piece of transactions between a number of chains.

This cross-chain swaps includes 3 tokens at the moment.

  • Native LEO (Hive Blockchain)
  • Wrapped LEO (Ethereum Blockchain)
  • BEP20 LEO (Binance Smart Chain)

This all feeds into the tokenomics that is being erected. It is a system that feeds into the burning of both bLEO and CUB tokens. This is done by the fees that are collected (.25%) for each transaction. This will help to push up the price of both bLEO and CUB which increase the depth of the liquidity pool.

image.png

As we can see it will be tied to Hive even deeper in the 3rd quarter. This will help to create easy movement between all three chains when this is completed.

A post explained some of the details and future development.

Kingdoms

This is an additional layer that is being added to CubFinance. Here is a way to compound returns through automatic reinvesting as well as tying in different liquidity pools. Ergo, people are earning more than just CUB tokens for their stake. They essentially are receiving rewards in two different forms, although payout is in CUB.

The coding for Kingdoms is done. With all that is going on in the DeFi world, it is best to get as much verification as possible. For this reason, the intention appears to be to wait for completion of the CertiK audit.

This is going to be a very attractive feature to those outside the present ecosystem. By expanding the range of what can be pooled, the target market grows. Couple this with the inclusion of LeoBridge and we could really see some funds flowing in.

Development Fueling Everything

It is easy to fall for the hype that often takes place in crypto. We see projects running that have not utility or very few users. However price skyrocket causing everyone to look upon then with envy.

This is not going to radically transform anything. Those tokens that see this kind of run tend to end up crashing at some point. We saw a lot of this in 2017. Much of what people were clamoring over are not longer talked about.

Development is the key to forward progress. This is something that many overlook. It is not exciting or glamorous but it is the path to a more viable platform. Expanding the features is vital to bring in more users.

Few want to be patient. They want everything to happen in an instant. This is not how it works. Being patient means allowing for the first versions of an application to roll out and then waiting for the updates. It is through the later that we see the platform example as more features are added.

Leofinance was one of the best projects on Hive since the formation of communities a couple years ago. It seems that many forgot that and how much the team delivered in the past. In fact, if we look at where things were at the beginning of the year, we can see the advancement.

This is something that is continuing since development is happening on a daily basis. There is a team of developers working on all the different applications that were discussed over the last half year. Slowly we are seeing pieces start to roll out.

Here we see just a few items that are in the process of going live. It is obvious there is a lot more to come.

Love seeing updates no matter how big or small they are they show progress and development and it's much needed. I have to say Leo is one of the few tribes really making something of things.

Yep they are still in full development mode it seems. The quiet period looks like it turned people off but they are working upon some major stuff. We see the pieces and not the entire puzzle. Each new addition brings a few more things closer to the grandscale.

LeoBridge is going to take a little while to ramp up but it could really funnel a lot of money into the Leofinance ecosystem.

That is fantastic, I did open up the mobile version today and think Wow! I didn't check it I could upload images might try on this post.

I love how it integrates with Hive in the 3rd QTR. Will make getting Hive out alot easier.

I think the silence is also good as it stops massive pumps and Dumps. Eventually CUB will be in full swing and everyone will be wishing for more time to have been able to build their accounts. Heck I even want more time!

Either way we have some really good advancements here already.

Will be interesting to see how the next few months pan out.

As long as the development keeps taking place, all these projects will be fine and have a lot more value down the road.

They will, I've honestly been thinking about powering down some Hive to send across as Leo. Hive is a lil broken atm and Leo has better governance. But I don't know, hoping it's a short term issue. Either way more Leo for me. I should break 3000 tomorrow :) wopt wopt

I do wonder what the new form of Defi will.mean, seems to be alot more projects commencing with it. Lots of coins and no need to stake just get divs. Time will tell though

This place is developing slowly yet steadily. It takes time to create a working version of every enhancement. The past one week was great in terms of updates. Looking forward to see Kingdoms now. ;)

From what the announcement was saying, it is basically done and only requires integration with the site. That means the big hold up is the certification of the audit.

Alright, since it's one contract, it shouldn't take much time. Can we anticipate them to go live, this week?

Well it depends upon how long it takes for them to do it and get it to Leofinance. The last one took weeks.

So no way to tell. I think they are willing to release it without that but they prefer it before going live. We will have to see what they do.

Having the audit done before go-live is a +1

Anyway, looking forward to it. Can't miss getting in early this time.

We just need to keep stacking our CUB/LEO. I do think one thing you forgot to mention is Project Blank but we technically haven't gotten much news about it. I am looking forward for CUB to be placed on various different sites and the kingdoms to go live to revitalize CUB.

That is true but blank was just mentioned in the announcement, with no details. So we can only presume it will be a while before we see that.

It is on the list obviously but seems to be down on the rollout list. But who knows. We will see if there are updates over the next few weeks.

Confidence and patience must guide us. As you say, sustained but well-done development, not on the run, will bring value to Leo and Hive, of course. What is being done in Leo Finance is already a model that I believe many communities will follow and, why not, copy it. I think CiteTV and Proofofbrain will be among the first to do this, for their own good and ours. Because copying a viable model is not a shame, it is a testament to wisdom. Stages of searches and research can burn.

We will see what they come up with too. They have a lot of potential and got off to a hot start. We will see what development that comes from that.

Notifications were one of the major gaps in the site up until now. I used to have peakd open on one window to see what was happening and leo open on the other to reply.

Every step that they are making right now is a positive step forwards in my opinion.

Enough steps will add up. I agree. We just need to get each step and keep them going.

A lot of good news combined in this one post. Kudos to the whole team for all the really wonderful work and making this reality.
Interoperability between different platforms will definitely open new realms.

As someone who works in tech, I can appreciate the time and effort that the developers are putting in. When we have services down at my work and I start getting calls and emails the first thing I think is do you want me to talk to you about what is broke or do you want me to be working on fixing it? I don't think that mindset is wrong, but I also can see the flip side. As an end user, we just want information. Even quick updates, just so we know you haven't forgotten about us. The end users need that and the community needs that. Hopefully the addition of some developers will free up a person to be that regular mouthpiece for the project(s).

There is a trade off. A lot of quick updates tends to mean more bugs. Users hate that. So it is a balancing act.

I get that. I just think they need to be a bit more open about it. Not that they are trying to hide something, but get someone on staff that can relay that info to the community. It would go a long way I think.

All this development is motivating me to keep staking Leo even though the price action is not that exhilarating currently. But I'm confident some very interesting stuff is going to happen in the near future and I want to join the fun when that happens :)

Long term views do really help a great deal. In my mind, this is where the big money is made. Those who are stacking will benefit more when the price ends up turning since they are playing with a bigger bag.

I think of Leofinance as a mini Network of connected applications, which just gets bigger and more diverse in its purpose. Khal is a development creative, almost savant like focus, but to interactive and humane to be true savant. We are really blessed
