My Canadian Silver #2 - 50 Cents 1966

avatar

A couple of days ago I showed you guys my sexy chunky Canadian dollar from 1965.

Today's coin is a 50 Cents from 1966, which once again is a relatively plain looking coin with not much fluff and shit!

Pretty basic, a young Queen Elizabeth on the front side and the Royal Coat of Arms of Canada in the back.

Although not as impressive in size as the $1 it still packs quite a punch!

11.6638 g of 0.800 silver and .200 copper. Not bad!

Here are some more specs from numista:

All in all, another beautiful piece from the land of cold 🥶❄️🥰

Love the look of the royal coat of arms in the coin, I really appreciate it and thanks for sharing.

Leave it to the Canadians to put an unicorn on their coat of arm. I guess freezing your ass off stimulates the imagination

It's 24C right now at 3pm in the afternoon at the West Coast of Canada! But I like this kind of cold hard cash! Tomorrow is Canada Day but I have to work!

How does this one compare to the Aussie 1966 50c coin?

Similar in terms of Silver content?

The markets keep on dipping. So difficult now to predict, stacking silver is much safer and more enjoyable !
