5 Stock Trades I Made Today
I'm a very active trader.... I guess day trader, at this point. It's terrible because I'm actually a very long-term investor, but with an inability to control my need to constantly optimize my portfolio based on the trends that I'm trying to follow.
Anyways, here are 10 stock trades I made today:
Sold some Reliance Industries (RIGD.il) - One of the best companies in the world, but I needed the cash, and most of the near-term catalysts are likely exhausted at this point as it continues to trade near all-time highs as India's largest company.
Bought some Samsung (SMSN.il) - DRAM manufacturers, especially the industry leader, continue to trade way too low relative to their capital investments. The world should be waking up to the limited amount of scaled up foundries out there, and Samsung was just able to snag some business w/ nVIDIA.
Bought some Meituan Dianping (MPNGY) - I'm way too late to this party, so its probably more of a FOMO trade for me, but the super-app developer really only has Alibaba as a competitor at this point, and given Tencent's ownership in the company, at least its got a strong ally on its side. I'm super heavy invested in Tencent, which owns 20% of this $200 billion company, so this wasn't even a necessary purchase for me..... but I just gots to have some if you know what I mean.
Bought some UTZ (UTZ) - Got to love the chips. But given its recent public appearance after 100 years as a private company, the insider ownership is still very strong and they're actually growing during this pandemic.
Bought some Frontline (FRO) - My huge dividend from DHT, another VLCC tanker co, came in today so I thought I'd throw it into the next big dividend coming out of Frontline on September 11. The company is paying out a 50-cent quarterly dividend which is basically a 6% yield JUST THIS QUARTER ALONE. Tanker companies are probably one of the most unloved sectors out there, but they had an amazing year and they're continuing to pay out a really really nice yield.
