With covid ravaging India, a lot of relief efforts have sprung recently from individuals and organizations donating money and supplies to fight the pandemic.
A similar effort has been pitched by Indian tech founder Sandeep Nailwal, who set up a fund urging global crypto community for help. Balaji Srinivasan former Coinbase CTO responded by donating $50,000 in ETH and $50 for every retweet, up to $100K.

Responding to Sandeep's call Vitalik Buterin thanked Sandeep for organizing the effort, and Srinivasan for signal boasting the campaign. He posted a transaction hash as a proof of transfer of 100 ETH and 100 MKR worth more than $600,000.

It is amazing to see crypto community rallying up to fight human dilemma in India. Contrary to conventional means crypto transfers are transparent and fast, which is what required during current dire situation. The crypto donations campaign to help covid struck India came amidst the country planning to impose a crypto ban, and it will not only help assuage the troubles of affectees, but may also push regulators to revisit their position regarding crypto's future in the country.

Prayers for India🙏🙏🙏
