Dreams Are My Reality

Do you get that feeling when you dream a dream that's too real that you start wondering whether it really is just a dream, or a snippet into the future that'll have you experiencing deja vu when that exact moment happens in your waking world?
But what really is reality? Maybe we're all living double lives; the moment we close our eyes at night, maybe we continue our other lives in another reality. But why does mine seem to be a never-ending loop of the days to come?
Groceries. Yes, I remember this feeling of impatience; waiting in line for my turn. This must be another deja vu. Or could I be in a dream, and it's my subconcious creating this feeling of mild annoyance? I feel tired just by analyzing it, then I realize it's my turn in the line.
The driver doesn't seem to know where he's going. My groceries are very heavy, so I opted to hail a ride home, but we seem to be going nowhere. That feeling of annoyance again. I close my eyes tightly, no! I remember getting home, this is another reality yet again! I'm sure I'm on my bed, slowly waking up.
And as if my brain seems to agree with me, I feel my surroundings slowly slipping away.
Meowing. I slowly open my eyes to sunlight in my room, then I start to register the meowing outside my apartment.
Blearily, I rise and head to investigate. My cats aren't usually this noisy at such an early hour. I open my door to see my cats are all there. But that's odd, I know I have been missing one for the past 6 weeks now; it has been starting to make me really worry.
I crouch down to pet him. He's real, he's here! He finally came back safe and sound and that's all that matters.
And I know, this is the reality I choose.

I used to have dreams like this when I worked in a carpark @iamraincrystal
I worked Saturdays and Sundays in a very busy carpark near to a concert venue and I would often spend my Friday morning in a dream where I was directing cars, patrolling etc.... only to wake up at 7am and have to go repeat the action of the dream in real life 🤣
I'm glad it doesn't happen anymore and my dreams have become insane precursors to stories and poem lol
The cat came back - I love it! And even if it didn't, you dreamed it did; that's your story and you're sticking to it (so to speak). I've seen several stories where the cat came home twice (i.e., the cat is doubled):
