To-Learn List - Best Way to Organize Learning

We all want to be better at something in our day to day life, better at what you do professionally, better as what you do as a hobby also to be a better human being. Now to become better the best way is to start learning something or the other.

Its actually up to you that to decide what things you should learn to become better, but just take an example from To-Do List. Most people including me maintain a to-do list, which is typically a list of tasks which I have to do in a day based on the priority. Just like a Program Management tool, where a manager assigns the task to the team member based on priority, but a to-do list is more of an individual list.

To-do list is very effective and it makes a huge difference in completing task systematically and on a priority basis. It also brings out the best work from you because you know what you have to do in a priority basis.

Now what we can actually do is to have a to-learn list to where you can add items based on what you wanted to learn today, tomorrow or in a month or in a year. I use a to-learn list for my learning list, using this I am able to keep a priority on what I have to learn next and thus it makes me able to learn more things because then I don't have to waste a lot of time finding out what actually I have to learn.

Whenever I come across an article or a good book, I add it to my learn list and thus every month I keep progress on my learning of what I have achieved and what is missed out. This is a good way to keep progress in your to-learn list too because learning is much more important than doing other things why because learning is what makes us better every single day than the previous day.

Similarly when you start learning something and if you have to add some more learning to the topic, its best to add it to learn list because then you know the flow that this also has to be completed before I know that my learning is completed. Since we all have limited time and thus to make every minute count, having a learning list solves it most of the time because you know what you have to learn next and you actually don't waste a lot of time thinking what do to once you complete your current learning.

The problem is that we end up not doing something if it's not documented or if it's not in the list, this is also because we get busy doing things which are equally important. Why I said equally important because learning is important too.

I use Trello, which is free for individual and thus with the sleek UI, it makes keeping list looks great.

I usually keep a lot of tabs like To Learn, To Write, To Read (Quick Bites) etc and thus the Done column where I move all the items which I have completed. This is I think the best way so that you can actually see your progress and how you are doing. I think learning is the food for the brain and thus more and more learning you will do sharper and sharper your brain will become and with the to-learn list you are just streamlining the process of learning.
