No 1 place is Benin city

Benin City is the capital, and its the largest city of Edo State in southern Nigeria.
This ancient city "Benin city" was the home to the pre-colonial Benin empire. The first thing that comes into my mind when I hear about Benin is Ile-Ibinu, meaning the land of vexation, the name "Ile-Ibinu" is just part of their history. There has been various School of thoughts as to the history of the Yoruba people, don’t quote me wrong, Benin is in south-south Nigeria.

Ife or some people know it as Ile-Ife is an ancient city in South western Nigeria located in Osun state. Ile-Ife is known as the home of the Yoruba race. It is fondly known as the place where all Yoruba’s regardless of their dialects and world view, have their roots. Ife is known for its ancient and naturalistic stone, bronze and terracotta sculptures.

In Nigeria Ibadan is the third-largest city in Nigeria after Kano and Lagos, which has a total population of 3,649,000 as of 2021, and over 6 million people within its metropolitan area. Ibadan can be found in Oyo state in Nigeria, This ancient city came into existence in the year 1829, when bands of Yoruba renegades following the fall of the Yoruba Oyo Empire. Local historians claim Lagelu founded the city and was initially intended to be a war camp for warriors coming from Oyo, Ijebu and Ife. Ibadan is surrounded by seven hills. Its pre-colonial history centred on militarism, imperialism and violence.

Kano is the capital city of Kano State, which is known as the most populous City in Nigeria it is located in the North West zone.

The principal inhabitants of the city which is Kano are the Hausa's people, and the four walls of kano tell their history. Kano kingdom was founded as one of the Hausa Bakwai (“Seven True Hausa States”) in 999 by Bagauda.

No. 5 is Lagos
Lagos is also one of the most populous city in Nigeria and the third largest city in Africa after Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cairo Egypt. With a total population of 14,862,000 as of 2021, Lagos as at now emerged as a home to the Awori subgroup of the Yoruba of West Africa.

The city was the home the first social club in Nigeria, The Africa Club.
