When you want to put a video on your hive posts you have several possibilities. You can upload a video on youtube and then integrate it in your post. You can also upload your video on 3speak and then create the post directly on this platform. I love 3speak and I use it regularly.

I would like to present you another way to present a video on your Hive posts that actually can actually generate a very interesting synergy for your rewards.

Host your videos on Lbry

Lbry is a blockchain based video platform that allows you to host your videos. It's not only free, you can actually get tips on your videos. There are some automated tips when your videos reaches a lot of views.

Embed your Lbry video on your Hive posts

When you create your post on hive, you can embed your lbry video on this post. This has some advantages.

Embed only works on peakd.com

After some testing I realized that the embed function only works on peakd.com. On condensers like hive.blog the video is not visible. An alternative is to put a picture and with the link to the video on Lbry (see below).

More views on lbry

If people watch your video on the Hive post, you will actually get more views and this might increase the tips that you get on Lbry. In addition to that these views are not limited in time. You can like that go beyond the 7 days post limit and continue to earn with the videos on your Hive post.

No ads

When you put your videos on Youtube or on 3speak, there is the possibility that there will be ads playing on your videos. This is not the case for Lbry videos.

Get Lbry sign ups

When people sign up with Lbry and verify their account, they actually get an invite bonus. The great thing is that you get the same bonus as well. At the moment you will get about 15 LBC for each verifyed new user. This is about 0.4 USD.

Interchange LBC and HIVE

Both LBC and Hive are traded on Bittrex. It is therefore possible to use your LBC earnings to power up your Hive account or to use Hive to get LBC and stake your videos for a better position in the Lbry search engine.

In my eyes Lbry and Hive are the most promising social blockchain platforms and the moment and they offer a nice set of synergies that can be used.

I was looking for a solution for videos and found libry a good option as well.

Verry good articel you write here with all the infos needed!

I think the videos on hive will change with the app dapplr, as there you can upload vids directly,
what do you think about @dapplr?

I think it will have a impact as usability on the smartphone is more like inta with filters for photos, doubletab for upvote and so on.
Combined with a good onbording system its gone be huge hahaha I hope 🍀🏅⭐

Nice video Achim, and I have tried LBRY myself before, it seems though that it takes quite a bit of time to sync up the video, especially since I am only on mobile devices, and yeah that is currently my only option, but it is great to have another platform to post videos to, stay safe, awesome and alive.

I believe that Lbry is not yet optimal and I can imagine that it takes some time to load it on a mobile device. But it's another alternative ;-)

Yeah I noticed that only PeakD works with their embed, and the mobile app just drains the battery all the time, so I had to uninstall that, but as you say it's an alternative.

I joined lbry recently after being referred by some friend on hive though my account is not yet validated to start earning rewards. May be my country is restricted from using that application.

For now I can only view other users videos but I can't upload my videos.

I am still trying it out to see that I begin earning some libry.

They have some restrictions about validation with Lbry. Maybe you check out their discord server. Their support is quite good I've heard.

I don't see any point posting on YouTube if you are a new author... It just has no future... It would be like starting using Adsense as a small author these days... It was a time for that in the past, but not today... ;)

I was more "lucky"... They didn't kick me (I still have an account), but they are paying peanuts to members... 95% revenue is going to Google and 5% to publishers...

Once I took a look at Lbry. It was like downloading software on your computer and run it from there. Don't know the present situation. I'm also on Publish0x, not active over there right now. Thank you @achim03 for sharing this, with combining blockchains, it will increase our income!

Thanks a lot for your comment. In the past Lbry was an app and now they have also a browser version with lbry.tv. It's not necessary to download things anymore. It's worth to try it ;-)
