Coinbase Visa Debit Card

After the big new of Paypal accepting cryptocurrencies into its payment system, Coinbase is launching its own Visa Debit Card that allows payments with any Visa-compatible payment terminal in US.

Coinbase users in US would be able to get a virtual card immediately after registering for the service. They would get a physical plastic card within two weeks after signing up.

This is a cool update as it can allow crypto to be spent like fiat using Coinbase account balance.

It works like a regular Visa Card and even allows withdrawal of cash from ATM.

There is also a big carrot to allow card users to earn rewards in the form of BTC and XLM.

This service was previously only available in UK and EU. With its launch of such service in US, the impact of Cryptocurrencies would probably spread like wild fire.

This can bring another positive wave and push for the real-world usage of Cryptocurrencies.

With more ventures to make Cryptocurrencies more accessible, it can bring more believers into the Cryptocurrency market.

With various new initiatives, we can easily predict the future value of Cryptocurrencies especially with the depreciation of currencies worldwide during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is definitely an exciting era especially for those who have waited since 2017 for the golden era of Cryptocurrencies to arrive again.

That is awesome news for all US-based crypto owners! More and more companies are "opening" their gates for crypto... Mass adoption is coming? Will see :)

I spotted this one, they are obviously feeling the pressure of the other players in the crypto-visa card world. Nice to see they are extending it to the US, this goes one more step forward toward normalisation of crypto transactions in a real-world setting.

With other players providing card facilities, they may have felt the competition indeed.

Thanks for the information. This is the first I have heard of this (I guess I should read my Coinbase emails more often). I joined the waitlist and will be keeping an eye on future developments.
