I have similar views as you for getting "financial freedom" by earning passive income... It can take time, that's true...
And I would like to touchpoint regarding this:
Who knows which generation will receive some such level of adoption at all. Only bitcoin, no cash. Nice idea indeed, but not realistic.
Actually, this can be implemented in a year... if there is a will from the governments around the world... How? I don't know...
But, I'm bloody sure that if I asked you a year before, is it possible to lock down the whole world in just a couple of weeks, you would say it's not :)
After this point in which we are living, I have stopped believing that some things aren't possible :) :)

Maybe some kind of crisis can help with that in some way, but more probable is the usage of "their" government issued e-money, which has nothing to do with open borderless permissionless cryptocurrencies.
About the locking down the world, yes no one could even imagine what happened, it was so unprecedent!
