Rising Star: R76 George Rare Musician NFT Giveaway #12

The Festival World Tour is starting up on Tuesday and you can read the announcement about it here. It was hinted at during the weekly Radio Evolved, a music stream where you get to listen to the independent musicians of HIVE so I was looking forward to it. I tried to buy a STARPRO cheap but it didn't exactly go well and I paid more just to grab it before the event starts.

As for my missions, I have done quite well and managed to do decently on time on most days. With the newest pack openings, I think my starbits earnings has increased a little bit more and I have some starbits to use on petrol cans and other cards for my collection.

Giveaway

There were not many picks for duplicates so I decided to choose one of the new cards added at the start of the month. As of now, 369 of them has been minted and I currently have two of them.

The giveaway item is R76 George and it has 100 fans, 150 skill, 5 luck and 2 income modifier. It has similar stats to the card I choose to giveaway last week. Since it has similar stats, I think its a great card to have to unlock missions and improve your ranking.

Current Status

After seeing my drunk fans after the Local Mini Tour Support, I increased the number of guitar lessons to increase my skill gap. The drunk fans I got afterwards was around 3k and the gap between my ego and fans was quite low. I am not sure what is the best number to keep ego at but I kind of prefer to keep my ego at 0.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any cheap cans of petrol so I am still stuck with 4 of them and I need 5 for the 2nd mission on the 3rd map. Maybe I should just buy them at the 5k Starbits price set by the game developers. As I am not level 100 yet, I can't access the next mission due to the level requirement. However the number of petrol cans only increase as I proceed further along.

I was fairly disappointed with my pack openings as I didn't get any double rare packs, epics or legendary cards. It did contain quite a few unique cards like Bekky. So this will just help me in the rankings and the extra fans can help me earn more starbits.

While checking around when I had time earlier in the week, I saw a R1 Classic Punk for 18k Starbits. When I saw this, I decided to take out 20k starbits from the game and use it to buy this card. There are only 250 of them released and it is by far the cheapest version of the card on sale.

So I kind of mentioned it at the top of the post but the Festival World Tour will start soon. It will give me parts to make some band members so I plan on doing it every week. To do so, I bought a backstage pass using a STARPRO. I didn't want to bother fighting for STARPRO in the bidding wars so I decided to grab it off the market. I wonder if its possible to get two copies of the items so I can have one as a unique card and the other to make the band member.

Current Goals

The goals I set last week are still going to be my current goals for a while. I see no point in changing it as they should be something I should focus on as I open more packs and unlock more missions.

2. Top 50 in Rising Star rankings

My ranking has moved up a few places from last week because the number of unique cards from my pack openings helped. It may be possible for them to release more cards mid-month but I plan on opening my packs in the next few days. So I don't expect as many unique in this opening. So I expect next week to be more or less the same rank.

After getting some feedback, I decided not to worry about the XP boost cards. If I don't rush my level then I don't have to rush getting petrol cans from the market either. At my current rate of leveling, I only gain a few levels a week so it would still require quite some time before I can open up the the later missions.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
6. If you have more fans than skill and you want reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
