Pushing for value. #500wordsaday

I’m thinking big money thoughts at the moment.
Not just for me even though I did play the lotto for the first time in ages. Euromillions is 75M this week so if my numbers hit expect a big spike in HIVE prices in the near future. No, I’m thinking more about hive prices in general and while I loved the bump up to 26c this week I am trying to see how we can add more value to the token.
It’s what I have been thinking about for the last while and what I have been worried about as well. We are sitting on a token that has great possibilities but one of the few lessons that I have learned in crypto is that people buy the prices not the product. If people bought the product, we would already be sitting on $10 hive as its potential is fantastic and can be used for so many things.
There was a tweet earlier that asked,

I obviously answered about #hive in the reply
I'm invested in #hive for its endless possibilities. It offers the chance for ownership of your online activities and the possibility to earn from them if you are good at it. Blogging, vlogging, gaming, defi, programming, entrepreneurship. It's all there for people to build.
Pretty much the next tweet on my feed was this one from @nftshowroom which is just the latest example of a great business being built on #hive. One for the future as there is very little out there like it. Also the other similar projects just can’t compete with our fast, free transactions which makes hive a much better option for selling digital art. The same as every other good idea that I have seen being built on blockchain. Hive does it better.
And my comment.
This is #hive. This is building. This is adding value and use case to the token. #hive offers the chance to own your online activities and the possibility to earn from them. Blog, vlog, game, create. Start a business, utilize the existing community. You can do it all on #hive.
Unfortunately we won’t end up competing with the big boys for one simple reason. The same reason that @splinterlands isn’t being fawned over even being the number one gaming dapp in the world.
The token price.
It is currently the be all and end all of crypto. In the long run that will change but to be ready for when the change happens you want to be in the mix. You want to be in the mix when people start looking at the tech and real use case behind crypto for a place to put their money.
With a thousand apps and business like these, the price will fix itself. People will want the token to participate in the different activities. They will want it to trade against @leofinance as that token keeps going up in value on a regular basis. Trade it against any of the other tribes or smt’s that can create their own value against hive.
That is why I am pushing the narrative at the moment about ads on hive and creating that value through our content. To push the price higher and get us into the mix. To be sitting in plain sight when people are starting to look at blockchains and not outside the top 100 coins.

We have some top quality projects building on hive. A lot more than the ones I have mentioned here but they need to keep coming. It needs to be worth their time and we need to be very visible so that others can see what we see. So that new people will see hive and want to build a business on the chain. Use the tech and the community to create something thriving and effective. In the meantime I will keep shouting into the wind unless inspiration strikes me down with the next great hive idea. The one that will bring in all of the people and investors.

I completely agree with this sentiment, just waiting for the rest of the World to catch up. It sure is taking it's time but we'll eventually get there!
Btw, about the ads. I like the idea.
It actually got me thinking of something a bit similar to what your yesterday's post was about.
What if every hivian paid like 1.2 dollars per month(I'm sure almost all of us could afford that) and the collected money is used to buy ads that will be promoting hive and/or some of it's top dapps on other platforms. And maybe to incentivize this type of behavior a curation group like ocd could spread a bit of love after proof of work is shown. We could try this for a few months and if we see that it helped us onboard many pple or projects we keep at it, if not we scrap it.
I'm just spit balling here as I don't how these things usually work but hey, who knows.
