Welp....

This is about 3 weeks late....

But I finally got around to uploading the second last leg of my journey across the country...

Apologies for not being able to get this uploaded sooner but alas...I've got the good interwebs, so I am able to get this up for everyone that has been requesting it.

Thank you so much for your patience and just a note, the final video will be uploaded later this week as well.

Hope you enjoyed the journey with me so far, and it'll wrap up in the next video :)

(Don't worry @CaptainBob we took some food close ups for ya lol)

Wasn't too bad...I wasn't in 'sight seeing mode' without my kid with me, so I just pushed through.

I am thoroughly enjoying these travel vlogs. You would be awesome at doing some "traveling the world" type of ones if you ever get the chance to do that :) The love you have for your son really warms my heart. Life is such a blessing.

I loved the food (yum!), the sunset when you were going through Montreal (I hope the roads get fixed - I will ask the cat down the road ;) ), & omg, the beach & sunrise later on. You are going to remember this trip for the rest of your life!

So happy you made it safe & sound to your new home & looking forward to the last video! :)

Great video! Thanks for sharing, Jon.

It's hard to let your children go, though. As you say, some people say it gets easier, but I don't know about that one. Both my daughters have left the house, got married, and have their own families now. But hey, they're still my kids. Fortunately, they both live very near to us, so we see them often.

You clearly have a good relationship with your son, so, the bond between you will just grow stronger!

Even though driving for hours can be a beat-down, I have always loved road trips. Your videos have brought back some memories for me. I used to have to drive for work from Dallas to places like New Orleans, Corpus Christi, Laredo, El Paso, and Amarillo. While my trips were not a week long, I generally had to drive eight to twelve hours, stay overnight at least one night, and then drive back home. I always brought my camera and made interesting stops long the way.

Oh, and I have done the driving through the night gig a few times myself. On one flying trip I got up at 3:00 am so I could leave the house at 5:00 am in order to make it where I was going before noon. I then worked until almost 9:00 pm (the last ferry across the Mississippi was at 9:00 pm) and hit the road back home. I pulled in the driveway a little after 4:00 am the next day (to say that my wife was not happy with me would be an understatement). I also missed that ferry before and had to drive 100 miles south (out of my way) to Baton Rouge in order to cross the Mississippi (the next closest crossing spot). That adds about three hours to the trip (not fun). I think I only missed the ferry twice (once as it was pulling away from the dock...I was steamed).

Thanks for sharing your adventure.

My mother tells me that as a kid, when I grew up I wanted to be either a truck driver or a race car driver. I became neither.

Great video, nice photos... I want one tip from you...

How do you do your sleeps on the road? Just decide, I will sleep, and you sleep? :)

That's my biggest problem with long journeys... I can't sleep in the car, even if I 'm tired as hell...

Yeah, I pass out with no issues at all. Just wanted to get through Quebec, as soon as I did, found a truck stop, pulled over and fell asleep LOL

That's great when you can do that... I have a problem that when I'm too tired, I can't sleep... lol... It sounds weird, but it's like that... 🤣 🤣

Road trips are awesome, especially when you get to stop and see the sites on the way. I haven't had a good one in many years, the last few have been just driving to get there.
