From Simple Tasks to Big Goals...

You know my content creation story... I'm usually inspired by some great posts from other people and add something mine to it... Just to start and move your brain cells a bit... :)

For my today's topic, I find more than 1 person responsible... It all started with a great vlog from @rcaine, where he was talking about the differences between tasks and goals, continued with the @robwillmann #myhivegoals challenge, and all got connected at the last @jongolson webinar where Jon was talking about his 5-500-5000 rule...

Mixing all that in my head, I've got aware that I've got hooked with that 5-500-5000 rule the first time when Jon mentioned it... And it was a year ago, or even more... I didn't think about it a lot, but it was somewhere in my consciousness and took care of IMPLEMENTING that in my everyday living...

Check out the video... If you don't like my talk, you will enjoy the sound of the sea for sure... :)

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

Thanks for the shout out. I really appreciate it. @robwillmann really started it with #myhivegoals. As they say, it takes a village or in this case a hive.

Great video! "We don't need just a number" ... EXACTLY!

We need friends, followers that are active who read out material and WE read their material, and curation flows in both directions. #winning.

Excellent point you made.

Great scenerie for your video ;-).

I believe that the engaging part can be quite challenging. The bigger the account gets, the more difficult it becomes not to neglect some of your followers. It's a matter of how much time you can dedicate to them. I saw for example that big accounts of witnesses that get tons of upvotes and comments don't even bother to answer the comments. Probably simply because they don't have enough time.

With this in mind I believe that it is very important to seek to build relationships not with just anybody but with people you appreciate, who create quality content and from whom you can learn things.

You are right about bigger accounts, but there are exceptions... If you check the Engagement League by @abh12345, you will notice that the names at the top of the list are "big accounts" and they reply on almost EVERY of your engagement/comment that you make... So, it is possible... You are right that it is time-consuming, but it is possible...

And the second part... I had an interesting experience... I saw a great blog post and I have upvoted and of course, commented on it... When I got zero response to my engagement, I don't have a "feeling" that I will do it again the same on that channel...

It's not that I'm selfish, but there is a difference between comment and blog post... The comment is 90% directed to creator, and if you get zero response, that it means: or the creator didn't see your comment at all, or he isn't interested at feedback... In any case, I'm not very thrilled to comment there again... It's not that I ask upvote or anything from that... just an interaction with your audience...

I agree with you on that. When you take the time to read a post leave a comment, the minimum I believe is that the author acknowledges it and answers the comment. I function the same way. When I don't get a feed-back to a comment, I will probably not leave a comment to this author at a later stage.

On the other hand this also teaches us that we should take the time to answer all the comments that we get on our posts...
