After attending a lot of webinars hosted by @jongolson, I have heard the saying "People have a memory like a goldfish" a lot of times... :) He used it in affiliate marketing for describing some of the usual things that are happening in that industry... Something like promises of earning $10K monthly for the rest of your life if you invest only $1K on XX offer... Or, sign up here, you don't have to do anything and you will earn X amount of USD... Generally, the point is that everyone has heard about the offers like that, someone has even tried it, but still, some people believe in them...

I think that @jangle was created a similar post about these "offers" asking how people may be STILL falling on them and believe in them... The truth is that there are new people that have never heard for something like that, but on the other side, there are people that have just forgotten that they have tried EXACTLY the same thing a year ago and being burned...

But, the thing is that these "offers" are sometimes packed into different packaging and people don't RECOGNIZE the PATTERN... It is still the same bloody thing, but packed in the new design, with a couple of flowers and unusual box... But, maybe it is something different this time? Maybe it is true that I can earn these $10K monthly 'till the rest of my life without doing anything?

Can you recognize patterns when the "new thing" appears? Do you try to connect it with some similar experience in the past? These things don't appear only in the business sphere, they are everywhere...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

I think it is often greed combined with laziness that causes people to fall for the same type of offers time and time again.
They want it so badly to work that they disregard that it did not work the last time.

Could be the case...laziness to investigate more about the topic... go deeper into the matery... ;)

Alluring & tempting patterns, nice elaboration. Thank you for sharing history repeating events, scare them and mold them in a planned manner.

For me, it just looks like a great strategy... moving the limits every year by small steps...

When I remember how I started with crypto I got into two scams quite quickly and lost some money. There are the people who think that when they see something similar that the chances are very low that the same thing will happen again but maybe they fall into the same trap by the same people with another packaging. What I want to say is that it's normal to make mistakes and believe the wrong things.

The clever people learn from it and don't make the same mistakes again. The other people are... helpless... They will fall into all these thinking traps. Why? Because they don't think by themselves. Instead of trying to figure out a situation with logical means, they will ask their friend and they will copy his opinion. That's what could be called the flat learning curve. Unfortunately there are quite a lot of actif flat learning curve adepts ;-)

Yes, you are right... I have a problem that I try to help everyone to open their eyes and DYOR, but that is impossible... As there are people as you said, that are helpless... They will never learn... Not because they are stupid, or something similar... it's just because they DON'T WANT to learn... it's too much hustle for them... and that's fine...

I try to accept that, but it's not an easy task... It's a shame watching something like that happening to some of your friends...

it's just because they DON'T WANT to learn...

You nailed it. There needs to be a willingness to learn something and you simply can't force somebody to do that.

Great reminder Zoltan, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, and as to the society they keep up their theatre to keep us occupied while they hold the power and grab more of it, keep up your good work.

I couldn't agree more with what you have said... Live theater is ON... We don't need reality shows on TV, we are living it... :)

If people remove the notion that "easy money' exist then they can save themselves from scam.

The same thing is happening over and over. Now we are in this situation, we think the same way. We overcome many crises before. It will go away eventually. It might just take some time.

Exactly... we are in the same thing over and over... that shows us that we didn't learn anything from the past... 🤣 🤣 🤣
