Holy Week- is it Biblical?// Teaching by Pastor Eli Soriano and my contribution.

Greetings Brethren, hope everyone is doing great. Today, I wish to share what I learnt on the course of Pastor Eli's teaching regarding Holy week.

In this first video, pastor Eli expressed through different scriptures on the reality about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We can check this scriptural reference that made his teaching on this subject matter 12:38-40, Matt 28:6

In Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.(KJV)

This is a reality we must agree with if we must be shown to be profound in the religion we have given ourselves to practice.

According to Pastor Eli and in consonance with the scriptures, Jesus was meant to spend three days and night in the grave and according to our system of timing and calculation, the day is precisely just 12 hours while a full day + night comprises of 24 hours.

I have also made my research to agree that Christ did not die on Friday based on how most people used to observe it.

Let's assume that he died on Friday which was the evening of the same day, and was also buried the same evening, it means that about 15 hours has gone out of the day

Matt 27:46About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,clemasabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)-NIV

Matt 27:50And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.(NIV)

So Jesus died at Three O'clock in the afternoon after crying out Eli, Eli,clemasabachthani two times and he wasn't buried immediately rather in the evening according to the scriptures in

Matt27:57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.-NIV

Matt 27:58 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.-NIV

Assuming Jesus died on Friday by 3pm, and was buried in Joseph's sepulchre at the evening, and then resurrected on Sunday morning, that means the three days weren't complete and it further means that for the 72 hours to be complete, the tomb was emptied on Monday.

cumulative practical calculation of three days (72hrs) of Christ in the grave

Friday night + Saturday morning= Day 1
Saturday night + Sunday morning= Day 2
Sunday night + Monday morning= Day 3

From this observation, we can deduce that Christ did not die and was not also buried on Friday.

Let's also see the reality of the Wednesday assumption of Christ death and entombment as against the usual believe that Christ died and was buried on Friday which according to the calculation above has proven false.

I believe according to findings and research that Christ died on Wednesday so let's see if this is true going by the three days and night he said he will spend in the grave.

practical calculation of Christ's three days and night in the grave going by the believe that he died and was buried on Wednesday and finally resurrected after Saturday.

Wednesday night + Thursday morning= Day 1
Thursday night + Friday morning= Day 2
Saturday night + Sunday morning= Day 3

From this conspicuous observation, we would agree with Pastor Eli and the scriptures that Christ died and was buried on Wednesday and then resurrected on Sunday going by the 72 hours calculation which is three days and night.

The emphasis in this regard is on the actual day of Christ's death as many acclaimed it was on Friday probably because of what we're been taught without proper observation and attention to the scriptures since we weren't eye witnesses of this event, we have to use our technical initiatives to observe the reality in this biblical observation.

Although the actual date of Christ burial was not stated for us to have precisely say that it was either Wednesday or Friday which has no much spiritual significance but we still have to be meticulous in our dealings with the scriptures to see if what we are being taught in church is true or false.

I must appreciate Pastor Eli for this observation.

I wouldn't also be saying much in this video because if the strong correlation between the two videos as the same thing was emphasized by Pastor Eli though he cited a different scripture at this point referencing: Matt 28:1-6, John 19:31.

We could observe that Christ resurrected after Saturday leading to Sunday according ntị the scriptures in;

Matt 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Now it was quoted that at the down of the first day of the week was the day the Mary's visited the tomb according to Christ's assertion that he would resurrect after 3 days.

What is down? According to Webster Dictionary of English, down is the first appearance of light in the morning followed by sunrise. So there was an empty tomb on Sunday morning that Christ resurrected at the end of Saturday even as Pastor Eli taught.

Conclusion

This is an incredible teaching and I believe that we Christians has to make our our research to know if what we are been taught is scriptural and we can agree that this teaching of Pastor Eli is in line with biblical views.

God bless everyone for going through and God bless MCGI for such a wonderful privilege. hope seeing you again bye and 💗
