prayer meeting on the 14th of September 2021
Good day Bible readers I'm writing this to summarize what I've learnt on our Prayer meeting which held on zoom.
Good News Translation
1 Peter 5:8 Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
The devil is always on the lookout for believers to possess, which is why believers should be wary of the devil's schemes. When a devil is thrown out of a human, he roams the dry land in search of someone to ruin. But after he's gone for a while, he'll return to see if the person is still there. If the person is empty, he will return and possess the person with seven powerful demons who are more powerful than him.
Matthew 12:43-45 The Return of the Evil Spirit “When an evil spirit goes out of a person, it travels over dry country looking for a place to rest. If it can't find one, it says to itself, ‘I will go back to my house.’ So it goes back and finds the house empty, clean, and all fixed up. Then it goes out and brings along seven other spirits even worse than itself, and they come and live there. So when it is all over, that person is in worse shape than at the beginning. This is what will happen to the evil people of this day.”
As Christians, we must thus put on the word of God and allow it to grow in us so that we may be filled with the word and the spirit of God.
Believers must always be in the presence of God's word in order to be filled at all times.
James 4:7 So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
Proverbs 1:23 Listen when I reprimand you; I will give you good advice and share my knowledge with you.
Luke 8:12-15 The seeds that fell along the path stand for those who hear; but the Devil comes and takes the message away from their hearts in order to keep them from believing and being saved. The seeds that fell on rocky ground stand for those who hear the message and receive it gladly. But it does not sink deep into them; they believe only for a while but when the time of testing comes, they fall away. The seeds that fell among thorn bushes stand for those who hear; but the worries and riches and pleasures of this life crowd in and choke them, and their fruit never ripens. The seeds that fell in good soil stand for those who hear the message and retain it in a good and obedient heart, and they persist until they bear fruit.
