I think it is kind of unavoidable for him to go out and work. But if you can encourage him to spend more time being productive towards what he wants by paying out that portion, then I think it will do better for him in the long run. Of course you should only do so if it won't affect your own budget and you can afford it.

Oh, of course... I'm happy that he is thinking in that way at all... lol... Seeing people being lazy and living with parents until 40 is not the picture that I would like to see :D
