Adding New Daily Tasks

I was watching today a great vlog by @theroad2freedom of how easily we can get distracted, and while I was writing a comment on his post, I've got an inspiration to create a vlog about one interesting implementation that I use to cope with distraction...

As a matter of fact, it wasn't connected only with distraction, but also about the ability to add new daily tasks to some of already established and converted into habits... You probably know that habits can be bad if they start to be boring, but on the other side, they can build you consistency and that is one of the most important things for your success...

If you are doing content creation and trying to build your brand and awareness, you know how important is to show up every day and be in front of the eyes of your audience and customers...

Check out the video for details...

In the end, I would like to make an update of my current numbers (August 1st, 2020 - monthly target 80%) on #MyHiveGoals:

HIVE POWER - 14,974 / 20,000 74.87%
CTP POWER - 114,664 / 150,000 76.44%
HIVE Followers - 288 / 333 86.48%
LBRY Followers - 976 / 1,500 65.06%

A bit slacking after my monthly goals (it should be 75% at the end of July), but no surrender! :)

Join us in this awesome #MyHiveGoals and let's grow together! You can find the original post about the challenge by @robwillmann here: https://peakd.com/myhivegoals/@robwillmann/new-challenge-myhivegoals-set-and-achieve-your-goals

Thank you for your time,

That is a great idea to try to combine a new task with and already existing habit to save time.

I'm a bit slow with "adding" new stuff to my schedule as I'm afraid that I will overwhelm myself and stop everything... And this strategy helps me avoiding that :)

Showing up regularly is pleasing for the customers :) Consistency helps in replacing the bad habits with good ones. You're on schedule, Bravo!

I would like that you tell me what is your secret? How do you make a comment to the post with 3 sentences, and at least ONE of them is an awesome one! :)

Consistency helps in replacing the bad habits with good ones.

This is so mighty sentence! It's indeed like that... I pick some bad habit (or non "profitable") and change it for the new one (better) :)

Thanks for the comment!

First of all, thanks for the mention. It's encouraging to know somebody is actually noticing your posts.

Secondly, as I was responding to your comment yesterday, I mentioned that I thought this was a great idea and a great addition to the discussion (I still think that).

Finally, as I was watching your video today, I realized I already do this to an extent and didn't even realize it. As I complete the #IAmEngaged section in my posts, I am finding my engagements for the day (thereby tying those two habits together).

Thank you, again, for bringing this topic to the forefront and for always providing helpful advice in your vlog posts. Keep on keeping on.

I realized I already do this to an extent and didn't even realize it.

That's the best thing when we didn't realize that we are doing something already... that is more natural and because of that gives even better results!

And regarding your posts... Don't worry, people are reading/watching them... people sometimes just need a bit of time to start commenting and engaging... I had the same feeling before with my videos and posts...

Keep showing "your side" of the story and people will appreciate that... ;)

Thanks for taking your time to comment!

Daily tasks are the best way to make progress each day in our businesses (& even in our personal lives). I noticed if I don't do this, I tend to lose focus & don't get much done lol.

In my experience, each day is a bit different. In addition to some everyday items to check off the list, some days are jam packed full of extra tasks & other days, not so much. I used to try to be so rigid with these lists or accomplish too many things, which proved to be counterproductive.

So, now as long as I achieve one big thing on the list & perhaps two more items, I feel accomplished. It's a work in progress but I am finally seeing what works. :)

Thanks for an awesome video. This will prove helpful for a lot of viewers! 💚

Your approach is more "human" than mine 🤣 Maybe you should change my attitude to yours... lowering a bit my expectation and be more "satisfied" at the end of the day if I have done 1 or 2 "big things"!

On the other side, we are different... If something works for you, doesn't mean that it would work for me... I think that I would be even lazier if I would implement your strategy... lol...

Thanks for the comment and your opinion about this!

Ha ha ha. Well, you DEFINITELY work very hard. That is a noble quality, for sure. :)

I do usually go way beyond the minimum I list but it gives me a guideline of what to complete if nothing at all. It tends to motivate me to keep going. However, I am learning to balance. I was either an all or nothing person with business in the past. So, I would either lose momentum or burn out completely. For me that wasn't healthy.

So that is why I tend to not overload my list too much. It's a work in progress. I am still guilty of doing too much.

Maybe I need to stop being so "human". 🤣😂

I am really hearing some "distracting" sound in this video.

Making daily task and SMART goal always help in long run.

hahaha... that sounds is coming from a lot of bugs that are "eating" trees... Actually, they are deadly for palm trees especially, as they can literally kill the tree in just a couple of months...

Luckily, they aren't so dangerous to other plants (like pine tree) where I was walking while I was recording this video...

I have a very similar approach when I want to implement a new habbit. I try to put it next to an existing one. After 4 - 5 days the habbit is already ingrained :-). My problem is not to take new habits is to find enough time for all of them :-)

I can feel your pain... As someone else said here in the comments, we have to eliminate bad habits (in our case, tasks that don't work) and change it with newer ones...

That's perfectly true. In the end we have only 24 hours in our days and we need to use them as efficiently as possible.

Sometimes I get distracted while watching your videos. The beautiful road, trees, and surrounding can distract anyone, I guess. So I have to watch your video again. lol...

That's a nice trick - adding something to your existing habit. I'll try it out. Thanks @ph1102 for sharing.

hahahaha... I have to find some boring place for recording my videos... 🤣 🤣 🤣

Thanks for the comment... The system works for me, but that doesn't mean that works for everyone... Try it... ;)
