Beer Tasting: 5th Element Imperial IPA & Crafter's Hopper Session IPA

Hello, beer tasters! 🍻 😎 🍻

It is warm here, very warm, the weathermen say we are in a heatwave. For me, that means I need to be in the shade and plenty of fluids, they warn on the radio. Yes, a cold beer to go with it is the solution.

I have to admit that I used to drink only water and cold tea in the afternoon, but now, for #beersaturday, I'm going to have a hoppy drink.

Two bottles from the fridge, traveling at least 400 km, and in different fridges. They were waiting at home for another week because I had no chance to open them.
Well, now it's the right time :)

5th Element Imperial IPA

Brewed by Pivovara Daruvar, Croatia. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 7.5% ABV.
Imperial IPA or Double IPA is distinctly bitter, less malty, lower body, less rich, and hoppier overall. I have read that it was brewed to celebrate the 50th birthday and the 25th work anniversary of Daruvar’s brewmaster.

Hazy orange color, with solid foam. I can smell the hops on the nose right away, and the first sip is full of citrus, ripe tropical fruit, pine, and resin flavors.
It's drinkable but not light, distinctly bitter but very fresh. The bitterness doesn't let up at all, the very strong hop flavor lingers in the mouth for quite a while... as if you'd washed it off... teeth with a strong toothpaste, haha.

Well, now I know what an Imperial IPA is. I've tried a few before, but none of them were that distinctive. I think one is enough, so really for special occasions, like when you meet another beer taster and you offer it to him :)
One of these Imperial IPAs should be in every beer lover's fridge!

Crafter's Hopper Session IPA

Brewed by microbrewery Crafter's - Agram Craft, Leprovica, Croatia. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.2% ABV. It's Session IPA, with a pronounced hop flavor but lowers alcohol content.
The guys say:

Its combination of floral, herbal, and citrus aromas, a semi-dry body, and a malty finish make it a beer capable of satisfying any thirst!

Well, given that I can still taste the hops in my mouth from the last one, we'll see what comes of it.

The beer is cloudy yellow in color, the head is quite firm and holds. The first sip went smoothly through the mouth and throat, again the hops and their bitterness in the foreground, the spices and citruses discreetly in the background.

Very drinkable and light, you can easily drink quite a few of them without guilt.
