Ever found yourself in a place and have no idea how you got there? Almost like you just blinked and found yourself there, as if you’re in some kind of dream but yet everything feels so real, that was how Paul felt as he looked around him.

The area was a familiar one, he knew the place very well, it was the former area him and his family stayed before they moved some few years ago. He wondered what brought him here as he looked at the time at the wristwatch he never knew he had on his wrist.

The time was 5:17pm and Paul knew if he didn’t find a way out of there, it would be dark soon and seeing how he no longer have a house there, that would be very bad thing for him. He tried asking the people around for directions but everyone seemed to be deaf or maybe they were just rude and just decided to ignore him.

He decided to look for a way himself and had just gone a little further when someone attacked him from behind. Paul could swear he hadn’t seen this guy before but something about this guy made him afraid, it was as if he had to be afraid even if he didn’t want to.

“Give me your phone!” the guy said to Paul who was very sure he had no phone with him.

“What phone?”

“That one.” The guy replied, pointing at the phone at Paul’s hand with his gun.

Paul didn’t know what was more terrifying, the fact that he just noticed the guy had a gun or the fact that a phone just appeared in his hand out of nowhere. He could swear the phone wasn’t there a few minutes ago.

“No I can’t.” Paul replied the robber, not because he didn’t want to give him the phone, but because he couldn’t. He couldn’t explain the feeling but something deep down inside of him made him feel like the moment he gave up his phone, he was giving away everything he has in his life, so Paul did the only thing he knew he could do, he tried to grab the robbers gun while screaming for help at the same time.

But just like the same way the people had ignored him when he was asking for directions, they had also ignored his scream for help, it was almost as if there was no one there, and to make to matters worse, the robber was starting to over power him and the gun was slowly turning towards Paul’s chest.

Paul tried to push it away but even he knew he was no match for the guy and then….. gunshot

Paul must have screamed as he woke up because his wife had woken up with him. “What’s wrong?” His wife asked as she watched him touch his body as if looking for something.

“It was a dream” Paul whispered to himself but loud enough for his wife to hear.

“You almost woke up the kids” his wife said before going back to bed. But as for Paul, he was done sleeping. He looked at his wall clock to know what the time was, it was 5:17am.

Paul must be really happy, to realise it was just a dream, I remember when I had a terrible dream three days ago, I also woke up and shout, I was so happy since it was a dream.

This kinds of dreams can really scarce somebody.

Very relatable, that moment you wake up and realise "Oh, it was just a dream". An interesting post
