The Power Of Mentorship

Y'all, you won't believe what I have here.

I am honoured to have a mentor for what, I left no stones unturned (yeah, mostly! ).

So, for the last couple of months, I was looking for a kind-hearted soul willing to guide me to become a better writer.

During my journey, I have come across promising individuals, interested persons, and also "don't care" type of guys.

I looked into Facebook & Skype groups where I'm a member, tried to learn things from LinkedIn, and even searched the web to get materials that would benefit my quest.

But none of them was "committed" which this one is. And I'm grateful to have her as my guide.

A big shoutout to my mentor whom I can't mention at this point as my mentor is not yet on Hive, if any of you want to meet here, follow the link.

Talking about her, she is a pure soul who responded to my appeal, listened to my problems, shared her struggle, inspired me to embrace the challenge, and motivated me to do what I thought was nearly impossible.

And, yep, I never knew someone with no prior connection in real life can be this helpful without any financial interest.

No, I didn't expect her to do this with that intention in the first place, but, other people whom I reached out with the same purpose, demanded money — directly or indirectly.

And I already wrote about them in one of my previous posts.

Shame on you scammers.

I have found a few dying for exploiting the weak and make money out of it (I'm very angry and disappointed with your behaviour. This is not very professional, you know).

Talking more about my sweet mentor, she is a statistician (one of my weakest point; I hate mathematics).

But, she writes poetry. Good poetry, guys.

No, her poem is not about equations and alike, but pure Haiku. (Unfamiliar with this? Ask her, she will teach you).

What more to say, she is a good listener. Also, a good speaker.

And what I loved most, you don't have to talk much. She will cover everything while she lectures (more or less).

All you have to do is to take notes while she delivers (note this down as well, she hates it when you don't take notes ).

Actually, there's more of her to say, but, not today. Maybe some other day.

But I must confess, she will overpower you with her assertiveness.

So, if you are the one with inferiority syndrome, go meet her.

How can you tell everything about someone when she has an ever-changing persona tailored to the facts around? Isn't it?

Whatever it is, more power to you girl.
