Body Language Says A Lot About You

You are not saying anything. People around you get to know you and have an idea about you just seeing your body language. Maybe you are not that aware of how we express yourself, but you do that all the time.

Body Language Says A Lot About You.png

You think and see someone very confident. How do you know that? You observe how he talks, the way he stands, how he moves his hands when talking, his body language, and everything he expresses even without talking a single word. At the same time, you decide that someone is not that confident seeing his body language.

Sometimes bad guys attack someone seeing his body language. The attackers always target someone who is weak and not capable of defending themselves. They attack and rob him easily. Maybe you are wondering why that guy has been targeted as a victim. His body language says a lot about him and his ability. And attackers instantly notice that and make their target.

When you are aware of your surroundings and walk with confidence, attackers might not pick you as their target. To defend yourself, be aware of your surroundings and what's happening around you. You can make your move fast if you see things are not right. And it will put you a better position to defend yourself.

Body language matters.jpg

Not only personal life but also professional life, we judge and get information just to see someone's body language. How you hold yourself and communicate, that can make you more likely to succeed in your professional life. From personal life, self-defense to professional life, your body language puts you a better position. You can draw other people's attention and people will notice you. You can be a better communicator and it will make your progress faster.

Way back in 1970 a writer called Desmond Morris published a book called "Manwatching". It became a massive hit in the UK and was serialized in one of the newspapers as I recall. It was all about body language as a powerful form of non-verbal communication.

That sounds like an interesting one. I will have to see if I can find that! :)

We do something and most of the time, we are not aware of that. And it sends signals to other people. Thank you @hirohurl for sharing this information about Manwatching book!

I didn't investigate a lot about body language, but I know some of the main things about it... Very often I can "see" what kind of person is someone before he/she even speaks... Don't know if that counts :)

When a person speaks, you get to know more about that person. The interesting thing is, you can get a pretty good idea about someone just seeing his or her body language. Thank you @ph1102 for your comment!

Oh, what you express with your body is a language of its own, for sure. A lot of things left unsaid can be seen in it, whether we are conscious of it or not. It's just like energy - the body never lies (neither does energy).

This can be helpful or harmful depending on the situation. Like many, I try to be mindful of how I carry myself to a point. But I am sure I show it in ways I am not aware. I have always found this to be a fascinating topic. :)

Thanks for sharing your perspective! :) Sending blessings & pixie dust...

We feel in a certain way seeing someone's energy and how she/he talks. When you talk to someone or give a speech, your audience can feel that. Yes, the body never lies. Thank you @pixiepost for sending blessings & pixie dust... :)

This topic is so important, yet most people pay so little attention to it. It includes not only what we do, but our verbal inflections, as well. It can be something as positive as having a firm handshake or looking someone in the eyes when you are talking with them to the negative of letting out a sigh or rolling your eyes when someone is speaking to you. One of the big points of contention in my house is, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it". And there is also, "What you say speaks so loudly that your words I cannot hear". We must pay attention to the little things we do and the way we convey messages without using words...everyone else is.

"It's not what you say, it's how you say it".

Yes, that's the fact. Even sometimes it can change the whole meaning based on how you say it. You can say a lot about someone just observing how you walk, stand, move, even rolling eyes. :)

I've been practicing martial arts. And sometimes attackers target someone just seeing his/her body language. So from self-defense perspective, it matters.

Great Post on Body Language, I have Been in retail of about 30 years and have seen a lot of different people come in and yes you can tell how people are by the way they walk and conduct themselves even like you said they don't have to say a word. I have also Learned that if you can get a Customer to smile or laugh before they leave 90% of the the Time I have seen them return because of that feeling they left with.

You are so right about body language. If you want to communicate without expressing words keep your mind in the right place. Think positive thoughts, smile and you will find that people are attracted to you. Even if a bad person comes near you ... if you think positive and are confident they will more likely go the other way. Don't go out of your way to interact with a negative person...might be a good reason not to spend too much time on Facebook and Twitter.

Yes, how you think and express yourself, that can change your surroundings. Your body language can send good vibes and people around you feel that. Thank you so much @kenwolff for your thought-provoking comment!

Body language is very powerful indeed. It can even have an effect on your own emotional well-being. When you feel down, your head and shoulders automatically tend to hang as well.

Do this experiment. Next time when you get up in the morning and you don't feel too well, stand up straight on purpose, taking a strong, powerful pose. Think of yourself as calm, strong, and powerful and focus on that thought for about 2 minutes or so and notice how you start feeling better.

As a martial artist, I am sure that you will know how you can also use your own body language to manipulate your opponent and thus catch him off-guard.

Yes, body language is very powerful indeed.

Great article!

How you feel, it shows in your body language. Doing power poses and thinking something positive can change how you see a situation and yes, it also reflects on your body.
