Begging: Physical Disability or Infrastructure Of Society

Let me begin with a short conversation:

Beggar: Please give me some money. (In Bangla:

Myself: Why you are asking for money? You are looking physically fit. (In Bangla:

Beggar: I'm physically fit but I am blind. (In Bangla:

Myself: If you are a blind, you can't earn by doing any work? (In Bangla:

Beggar: Who will give me work? (In Bangla:

I had no answer to this question that moment, giving him ten Taka I left him. After leaving him I saw there other three physically disabled people we're begging for money in a row.

Why begging? Begging is the only profession for physically disabled or physically challenged people in our country. Isn't they are unable to do any kind of task for their livelihood.

Physically disable or physically challenged people are a very common figure in every area, in every country all over the world. May I consider begging is the only fixed profession for those people. Never, begging can't be a profession, in any kind of physical stage of a human being.

Let me tell you about an industry in Bangladesh, named Keya group. What are they doing for physically challenged people? They are creating job opportunities for physically challenged people in their ready-made Garments sectors. They trained those physically challenged people to examine their physical condition. They trained those people in the field what those people easily can do. Light work like packaging, folding, attaching tag, assist sewing operator e.t.c. If a physically challenged person gets proper training in different working areas based on their physical ability they easily can do this work very properly as a normal human being.

But now the question is there, how many companies like Keya Group have a great mentality? More than five to ten. Because considering as a worker to physically challenged people really a great challenging issue for any company. Because making or trained them with their suitable work is the most challenging issue. So the Maximum number of companies always tried to skip physically challenged people as their employees. But if a physically challenged people are trained, experienced, and skilled then any companies will make choice them as their workers.

In the view of Bangladesh, we have lots of job opportunities in the field of ready-made garments industries. We just have to change our mentality, we just have to make a correction in our social infrastructure. Millions of physically challenged and disabled people are living in our country. Most of them choosing to beg as their profession. If our Government and we come forward to make them trained, make them skills in various working fields in RMG sectors. Then we can use them as productive Manpower for our country. Then we can see beggar free cities in our country.
