Autumn or Fall?

Autumn – the name itself is beautiful. But it doesn’t look the same everywhere. Days are bright and sunny, nights are a bit chilly. Some days we can barely see the sun. Autumn looks like nature’s way to welcome winter.

This isn’t a post about how beautiful autumn is or how scenically serene it looks like. I wanted to do something different. So I asked a few friends to share their point of view about autumn and they have shared how they’re viewing autumn. Each opinion is different.

One of my friends said that this autumn is proving to be quite difficult. The days are more like a warning for the upcoming days are going to be. My friend was worried about the winter that is near and many people will be suffering these days. The gloomy days are coming.

Another friend has said that these days of autumn are reminding him of crossroads. Although the weather is under a foggy blanket, he can’t help but worry about the future. And yet he gets hopeful seeing the beauty around him. As he prepares for his sister’s wedding, he gets cheerful about the fact that the gloomy days are not going to remain for too long.

Someone was telling me that he sees death in autumn. The falling leaves, the foggy weather everything reminds him of the fact that the warm and sunny days are too far gone. Everything seems dark, hopeless, and sad. And he keeps waiting for spring.

Do you know what I think of Autumn?

I think you already guessed it! Yes, I find autumn to be very colorful. I can only find beauty in nature and their surroundings. I do not look away from struggles. Sadness does affect me. And I too am worried about the upcoming chilly winter. But I also know, we’ll face this struggle and come out victorious. I keep hoping that things will get better as my heart doesn’t allow me to fall into despair.

I don’t like to use the word Fall. There’s no particular reason. I just find the word Autumn more soulful. I find that word as beautiful as the colors that it brings. I think I have said enough about how much I’m in love with colors all around, may it be a full canvas or black and white.

To see Autumn and not be awed at its beauty is something I cannot do. Everywhere every day we see depression, struggle, and hopelessness. Just for a little while maybe we can be hopeful that thing will turn out brighter like the sky during sunset, maybe things will turn out better than we expected.
