Vindication At Last - An Unfortunate Incident That Almost Smeared The Honour Of A Diligent Man

Tunde is a young man who has bright prospects but also confronted with challenges. He was unemployed for a considerable period of time after having a brief stint as a salesman for a mobile phone solutions company. He had to quit the job due to his poor sales performance. His quest to get a new job was a daunting task but he eventually got a job as a sales attendant in an electronic store. The electronic store was situated in a strategic location and this made it convenient for residents of the neighbourhood and prospective customers to make purchases.

The unpleasant experience in his previous job spurred Tunde to give his best and try to make good sales in his new position. He observed the habits of customers that came into the store and developed a strategy to help him achieve his aim of making sales. This strategy of his turned out to be effective as it enabled him to understand the needs of customers and also make good recommendations that suit their needs, therefore closing sales! This brought about high patronage and sales in the store and made Tunde an invaluable personnel. The manager of the store was impressed by Tunde's work ethic and dedication to his job. She commended him for his efforts and encouraged him to keep the momentum moving. Tunde continued being diligent in his job and was later rewarded with an increase to his modest salary. He was happy with his current situation and realised that his failure in his previous job acted as a catalyst that made him develop resilience and focus, qualities that are serving him well presently.

The manager of the store was happy with the progress being made at the store. She also found Tunde to be responsible and delegated more tasks to him. Patronage and services rendered at the store improved considerably over time. The operations of the store continued to flourish until men of the underworld swung into action. It had been a busy and demanding day at the store. The manager had an urgent matter to address and as a result could not wait to close the store with Tunde as she usually does. Tunde closed the store and dropped the keys at the manager's house just as she had instructed him and went home afterwards.

Tunde was surprised when he got a call from the manager in the early hours of the morning the next day that the store has been burgled. He was perplexed! He hurriedly freshened up and rushed down to the store. He met the manager and sympathizers at the store and was in disbelief when he saw the level of damage that was done by the burglars. He walked into the store and discovered that the burglars carted away with all the valuable items in the store. He was heart-broken and distressed. The manager walked up to him to confront him about the incident and accused him of being the mastermind of the burglary. She claimed that it was his plan to win her trust after being employed and take advantage of any opportunity to rip off the store whenever it presented itself. She also claimed that he was pretending to be ignorant of the burglary and that it was his plan to douse suspecting him as the culprit. She wondered why the burglary happened when he closed the store and not before that day. She labelled him as the prime suspect and culprit of the burglary.

Tunde was surprised by these accusations but maintained his innocence. He told the manager that he understands why she is upset but insisted that he did not orchestrate the burglary. He told her that it was a coincidence that the burglary happened when he was entrusted to close the store and nothing else. The police were invited by the manager to investigate the incident and took statements of the store's personnel. The police carried out their investigations and discovered that Tunde had no part in the burglary. It was an act carried out by some notorious gang who have been on the wanted list of the police for quite some time. They have been a thorn in the flesh of business owners in the town and seemed to avoid being caught by the police. Tunde was happy with the outcome of investigation and was glad that his reputation was cleared and no longer dented. The manager offered him an apology and asked him to forgive her. He accepted her apology and maintained his zeal to work hard at the store .

Tunde was delighted to be vindicated and not ending up a victim of circumstance!
