I didn't know that #sd & #microsd cards can be used as #windows hard drive storage. This is some creative use of #technology.

Yes, but SD cards are made for portability, not for durability and speed. 😅 You technically can even use them as the container for your operating system, but your computer will run very slowly. 🤓

I think that's why it didn't cross my mind, but I assumed: "No one is talking about it, so it's not possible."

Wonder how long they're supposed to live. I had one in my heavily used mobile for 3 years.

In my experience, they live 3 to 5 years under normal use before they slowly show signs of breaking down. 🤓

Thanks for sharing this. I expected around that much lifespan for SD.

Glad I helped...

Something the man in the video didn't mention is that SD Cards aren't very durable, so make sure you have a backup plan if you're doing this.

I used to travel with a bootable Linux USB to run on internet cafe computers. Slow, but more secure. Also, built RAIDlike array from like 16 USB flash drives. Would not recommend, but good fun.

Fun fact you can use a thumb drive as a ram stick

Yeah, I found that too when I looked it up... But won't that make the memory slow, or is the extra space worth it?

I feel like it is worth the extra space but that is just me
