I hate what Facebook did. But FB can't be compared to what happened to Google (to close a deal with news bureaus). In this situation, I think the news orgs need FB than vice-versa. They need their content to be viral.

I think FB's claim that the law aims "to penalise Facebook for content it didn't take or ask for" is quite fair.

The weak point of this argument is that FB already profits from such content, and it could pay a percentage of such profit somehow...

You're right. It's the users who post content to the platform, unlike Google that it pulls the content from news channel's website
