What am I allergic to? : May 30 2023
Apart from adverse reaction to harsh cleaning products, I’ve never been allergic to anything in my life.
Suddenly in my 40’s (I turned 41 last weekend) I’m allergic and no idea what is causing it. Maybe it wasn’t an antibiotic I was taking. Maybe something innocent like washing up liquid. Or maybe something I didn’t even think of… like flowers?!
I really hope that’s not the case, but since I don’t know and the doctors won’t sent me for allergy tests unless this repeats multiple times, I just try to stay away from most things and keep taking antihistamines at least until the hives (Urticaria according to my doctor) stop spreading or ideally disappear all together.
I probably should be avoiding sun too, but I still went outside for a lunchtime walk. I kept my light jacket on though!
And in the evening, once I got back home I had a sudden urge to run. Not walk, run.
At my current level of fitness I can only do a walk/run, which is more waking than running, but I felt the need to rise my heartbeat and get sweaty at least a little more than through my usual walk.
It was a short evening run, but I actually enjoyed it. It was what my body was asking for and it was good to deliver.

I just want to say that now you should take care of yourself and of course of your fitness. Because you are in your 40 now 😸😹

Great stepping while having allergies Monika, and sorry it's causing you issues, right now it is most likely the oak pollen, I have some issues with them too (I got allergies about 5 years ago and I am 42 now), the oak pollen is all that yellow dust that you see on cars and other blank surfaces right now, I take eye drops, nose spray and a pill each day right now to cope, take care and stay awesome.

One of the unwanted perks we receive with age I guess 🤷🏻♀️
Mine is a condition called Unrticaria. It causes itchy, swollen hives to show on my body and every day it moves from one area to the other. Today it’s in my eye, belly, knees, scalp, ear and one elbow. Antihistamine seems to do little for it and it’s hard to do anything, as I don’t know what’s causing it 🤷🏻♀️ I have a suspicion that heat might be one of the triggers.
Sorry to hear that Monika, you could also try Allmyn, it's a natural medicine made from that plant, usually quite expensive, instead of neutralizing the histamin your body has already produced which makes you tired it reduces the body's production of it, if antihistamin does not help much that usually does, at least for me anyways.

Thanks Erik. I will check it out. I’ll also reintroduce honey and bee pollen to my diet. It always used to be a part of it, but I stopped taking both a few weeks ago. Who knows, maybe that’s what kept me safe in my garden for all those years 🤷🏻♀️
