Hello, dear Hive community!

Justo antes de comenzar la pandemia tenía muchos proyectos con mi Quinteto Cantabile, conciertos, recitales, viajes a dar clases. Una serie de cosas que lamentablemente no pudimos cumplir y por eso apenas comenzó todo esto tuvimos la idea de al menos encontrarnos virtualmente.

Just before the lockdown started I had many projects with my Cantabile Quintet, concerts, recitals, trips and teaching projects. Some things that unfortunately we could not fulfill, so when all of this started we had the idea of meet online at least.

Hoy les mostraré un poco del primer proyecto que realicé con mis grandes amigos al principio de la cuarentena.

Today I will show you a little of the first project that I made with my great friends when the lockdown started.

Era (y es) una situación difícil para nosotros, tener que suspender todos aquellos planes de una manera tan inesperada no fue para nada fácil. Sin embargo, comprendíamos que todo era por el bien propio, de los nuestros y que pronto saldríamos juntos de esta y podríamos volver a encontrarnos físicamente constantemente.

This was and is still a hard situation for us, cancelling all of those plans in such an unexpected way was not easy. However, we understood that everything was for our safety and we could get over this together soon in order to meet face to face again.

Pero, no pensábamos perder el tiempo y nos pusimos manos a la obra

But we did not want to lose the time so we started working.

Como ya les había hablado en mis post sobre el COVID-19, ir a tu habitación a grabar tu parte sin saber como sería el resultado de todo, era una sensación muy extraña y distinta para todos nosotros, pues no habíamos hecho algo parecido.

As I told you before in my posts about COVID-19, going in your room to record your voice without knowing how would be the final result, it was a weird and different sensation to all of us since we had never made something like that.

Pero a pesar de eso, con mucho trabajo y paciencia, aprendimos a hacerlo y disfrutarlo.

Despite all of this, with many work and patience we learned how to do it and enjoy it.

En esta ocasión mis amigos y yo, decidimos interpretar un extracto de una famosa melodía que seguro todos conocen.

This time my friends and I decided to perform an excerpt of a famous melody that you probably know.

Esta proviene del primer movimiento de la Suite del compositor del romanticismo, pianista y noruego, Edvard Grieg.

This comes from the first movement of the Suite by the norwegian pianist and composer of the romanticism, Edvard Grieg.

La Suite fue compuesta en 1875 y estrenada en 1876.

The Suite was composed in 1875 and released in 1876.

La partitura de la obra tenía un total de veintitrés movimientos, y más tarde, en 1888 y 1891, Grieg extrajo varios movimientos, hasta dejar los ocho definitivos, divididos en dos grupos: Suite n°1 op.46 y Suite n°2 op.55.

The score of this work had 23 movements and later, in 1888 and 1891 Grieg quit some movements until leave only 8 definitive, divided into two groups: suite n°1 op.46 and Suite n°2 op.55

En esta ocasión interpretamos el primer movimiento de la Suite n°1: "Morning Mood"

This time we perform the first movement of the Suite n°1: "Morning Mood".

Esta obra está escrita originalmente para orquesta, pero yo realicé un arreglo para poder interpretarlo en el formato de quinteto.

This work is original written to orchestra, but I made an arrangement in order to perform it as a quintet.

Esta melodía está llena de esperanza y refleja el nacimiento de un nuevo día, la cual consideramos era perfecta para la ocasión.

This melody is full of hope and it reflects the born of a new day, so we consider it perfect to the ocassion.
