Some photographs of Gumti river and Gumti bridge while staying at Gumti bridge in the afternoon.

Bangladesh is a riverine country. There are about 730 rivers in this country. However, there are different opinions about this number. However, due to the presence of many river channels in Bangladesh, Bangladesh is called a riverine country. The Padma-Meghna-Jamuna is one of the largest rivers. There have also been many more small river channels.

Gumti river is also one of the unique rivers of Bangladesh. A district of Bangladesh has been formed around this river. That is, Comilla district is located on the banks of the river Gomti. And Comilla is my birthplace and our district town. Apart from the district town, the Gumti river also flows through the villages and separates it from other districts.

However, on the way to the capital from the district town, about one and a half kilometers on the Gumti river. In 2019, a new four-lane bridge has been constructed along with the old one to avoid traffic jams. Gumti is a river in which there is no tide so it is called the sorrow of Comilla.

The maximum speed limit on this bridge is 60 kmph. This warning is especially to avoid accidents. However, at present, Bangladesh is undergoing lockdown due to the corona virus causing terrible drawings in Bangladesh, which has resulted in limited traffic. A few days ago, my uncle fell ill and was admitted to Dhaka Medical College. And on the way back from the hospital I enjoyed walking across this bridge and seeing the view of the river. So I did some photography.

However, due to the current rainy season, a lot of water is seen in the river. There is a huge arrow in the middle of the river Gumti flowing under this bridge. And there are rivers on both sides of this bank. Another reason why this river is called the sorrow of Comilla is that it is destroying the houses of many people and making them destitute. On one side of this river, chars or banks are rising and on the other side, people's houses are breaking down and sinking into the river.

However, it was nice to spend some time between this river and the bridge over the river. I was able to cross the whole bridge on foot very fast and was able to cross the whole bridge in about 20 minutes by walking very fast. And at that time I did some photography while walking.
