The Ordinances (Set)
Hidden in the Pennsylvania state game lands #252 are the Bunkers of Alvira. A US government project in the 1940s to create a bomb proof storage place for well ordinance. The federal government bought the town of Alvira, razed it and built these bunkers. They soon discovered that they didn't need the space for TNT, Munitions and who knows what else. It was then divided up into thirds and given to the federal prison system, State and local government. It's approximately 10000 acres with about 150 bunkers like the ones pictured below. Located just behind the White deer penitentiary. You do have to be careful to only enter the parts that are local and state controlled, the lands owned by the penitentiary are still federal and you cannot trespass. Check out the videos too, they're worth it.
This video doesn't do it justice, but its really weird in there, the person standing next to you you can barely hear with all the echos. Sometimes it sounds like they're on the opposite side of you, very weird. Check it out here.
Hopefully a link to the IPFS hosted acoustics of the hay filled bunker! I tried to host via D.Tube.. but it keeps saying 'to many tags' even though there are zero tags. If anyone can help I'll gladly update this with a link. Video here
There are some beautiful man-made ponds on the property as well. If you're close to this location, it's worth the trip. So unique a sub-urbex experience.
Miles of even trails make it an amazing choice for those who want to get out and see some great vistas.

Thank you. The sound is really what gives you an un-natural feel. It's uncomfortable.
