UPDATE 2:

it's one relatively small issue with the market page but you guys had to turn it into an ego battle. it had already been solved by gillianpearce and ynwa. but nooo you guys love drama
I'm not replying to any more comments from this post. jesus fucking christ.

note:
the giveaway for this post has been cancelled
giveaways from previous posts will continue
my future rising star posts will still host giveaways

UPDATE:

@gillianpearce has suggested https://beta.nftm.art/buy/star
@ynwa.andree pointed out https://okean123.github.io/NFTExplorer/market.html

These are both better options to handle Rising Star NFTs. For Rising Star's purposes, I prefer NFTMart. Either way, your player experience will feel great if you manage your inventory through them. I would never have know. Thanks, guys!

Read the original post and participate in the giveaway if you like.

What is this market page?

Promising returns and my gameplay experience have made me very happy so far, but there is no end to my frustration when dealing with the market interface inside the Rising Star crypto game's website. It absolutely sucks. Now I remember someone telling STARBITS prices are really cheap now. Well, of course they are, how can prices see any viable competition when it's so damn hard to find what we are looking for?

My number one problem is, of course, the market page itself. Okay, it takes a while to load, I can look past that. But how the hell am I supposed to find anything at all? Yes, there is a search bar, but there is no actual filters besides it. If I want to look at nothing but instruments, I cannot do that. If I only want to see the value of epics or legendary, I cannot do that. How about filtering through cards still being printed, or more importantly, cards no longer attainable through packs?

How can prices soar if it's so hard to even find anything! Fuck me if I want to see cards using a specific token, too. I'll just have to browse dozens of slow loading pages before I get anywhere. Understanding how cumbersome the market is, I turned to the "Your Collection" page. Much better, but still bad.

Let me make this clear: if "your collection" is a better market than the market page, then the market is obviously damn awful. But even here, I quickly realized prices are not listed in any order whatsoever. Listing prices in USD in additional to the specified token would be the most reasonable solution.

But let's talk about happy things now. Like this post's card giveaway! One more Slippy (not Star Fox's clumsy frog) will join the ranks of a randomly selected comment's author, so make sure you leave me a message below to participate. Winners are always announced after my posts pay out, seven days from their creation date. Keep on rising, you rock stars!

There are tabs at the top of the Cards page for the different categories-- people, instruments, vehicles, etc.-- and each page is arranged by the level of card-- common, rare, epic and legendary... and the market pages are arranged by oldest to newest listings, with the newest at the bottom.

I'm not sure why you find it hard to navigate... this is literally the first time I've heard anybody saying this. Hopefully I cleared up some of your confusion, but let me know if I'm missing something. I don't use the mobile app very often, so maybe you're talking about that specifically? Let me know.

This is utterly useless. It's a mess. I want to find the best deals, not the newest single listings.

Yeah, and then we get to the market interface presented in the screenshot in this post. Have you seen it? It's the thumbnail. The game is asking me to sort, calculate and compare prices between many different tokens. The game is supposed to do that for me. I understand there are ways to program this, as dgamemarket has done it in the past (the seller could also set the token they wanted as paymen), showing prices in both USD and the token being asked for. Leodex does this too.

I expect the game will show me prices converted into USD and then sorted in ascending order. This is reasonable.

The lowest prices almost always appear at the bottom because people are trying to get their cards sold... that's been my own experience, anyway.

It could definitely be cleaner, sure... easier to sort and find things. But it is still a BETA thing run by a musician, his wife and a few buddies in their free time. And the @risingstargame team seems to be receptive, so they just might make a note and work on it for a coming update.

Don't ever say that as if it were a plausible excuse. What I'm taking from it is "yo, don't expect much in the future, boi!" You don't intend to, but you're making it worse.

They update the game every month, and they run a live stream every Sunday where you can show up and engage with the community yourself. They also curate #RisingStar content all the time, and they're generally on top of things.

So in short: I'm not making excuses for anyone. Expect what you've been getting, which is consistent growth-- both within the game itself AND the number of people who (by most accounts) seem to be happy with the experience.

I get it, you're only here to show me how you worship your investment and/or your friends. But you're actively convincing me to drop the game entirely, so I'll mute you before I end up actually dropping it.

Dude... you're so far off, it's ridiculous. It's a game. I like it.
Please do mute me. You'll be the first ever, and it would feel like a strange kind of accomplishment here in the Hive universe. They should have a badge for that. lol

PS: I will probably unmute you tomorrow when I'm not angry anymore at you for trying to convince me through status quo! Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for providing your input. Uh, I won't want to continue from where we left off, though.

PSS: It would be best for potential customers if your comments stayed hidden, though...

Nobody likes to criticize something they've invested into. What's worse, most of the time, top stakeholders from the game's community will heavily intervene, trying to shut up critics so potential customers aren't discouraged. I'm not saying Rising Star is like this, but because it happens in most projects, people have learnt to keep their mouths shut.

I really don't think that's happening here... it's still a pretty small community. And I haven't even seen much shade at all, as I said, that people felt the need to quash. I could be wrong, but it feels friendly overall.

It is small community and somewhat market is manageable by doing little calculation but it should be taken care.

RS and JUx are really awesome.

im in for the card draw.

Btw The market is not really "good" right now but i think is only a matter of time for devs to put some love into it!

I also visit the market using my collection page.
Market listing for the card is not so many , so manageable.
Once I thought card that is listed in DEC is cheap but actually it was really costing 10x of normal price and that really bad if they are not showing USD price.

Dcity market was also utter clutter and it is valid if you are supporting so many token , then give some uniform price metrics otherwise it leave buyer calculating at every price or might end up paying 10x.

My point exactly. Sorting using USD price would also help immensely. But that's only for the your collection page. Overall, the market page is completely useless.

I use a combination of my collection page and https://beta.nftm.art/inventory/star which has more filters. I never use the market page. 😂

The beauty of having NFTs on a blockchain is that anybody can build on top of it and we would have responded and told you about NFTmart & @okean123's tool too now that we have seen this post.

@thatcryptodave is quite correct when he says we are just a small group of friends that developed this game for fun (actually as something to do during all the Covid lockdowns) so please set your expectations accordingly.

I am the only developer and improving the marketplace is on the list but I am more interested in adding new features to the gameplay at this time.

Cheers and rock on \m/

please set your expectations accordingly.

I've suggested redirecting players to nftmart's website when attempting to go to the market ingame. I thought that would be plausible given whatever situation you are in.

Are you saying I should lower my expectations even further? You're basically telling me the game's future is "ehh you can expect more cards but that's it. oh and livestreams".

Okay. I get it.

That's not a bad thing, but when dave was trying to explain "why the bair is not being raised" is awful PR. All I had asked about was how to solve my frustration with the market. I thought other people's suggestions (like using NFTMart) were perfect, but his attitude was not good for the game. Yours, however, was fine. You weren't telling me basically that "I should be happy with what is already there".
