This looks like a great resource! I just discovered it today. I just posted the following to a post suggesting improvements to HIVE and then saw this blog so I'm copy and pasting it here as well. It seems it might be something this account could do (or maybe has already done).

Great suggestions! Personally, I would like some sort of explanation page of the whole Hive ecosystem. For example, how do all these things fit together? There's LeoFinance, and STEMgeeks, and Sports, and Peakd, etc....what do they all mean and how do they all fit into HIVE as a whole? I mean, if the new #ProjectBlank comes out and the price of the token shoots up to $5.00, what does that do for the people who own Hive? Will they get any value from it other than potentially capturing more users? I'm not saying that wouldn't be extremely valuable, but, like I said, I'm just wondering how they all fit together and what impact they individually have on the ecosystem as a whole.

I would also suggest possibly adding some sort of automatic "follow" to all new accounts. For example, I just saw the Hiveblog account giving a weekly update on the ecosystem as a whole. I think if new users had that automatically listed in their Followed accounts, they'd have an immediate resource to check to start digging for answers to the innumerable questions they probably have. Or, it could at least direct them on where to look.

I was in Steem 3 yrs ago and left and just "discovered" Hive about a week ago and I'm still pretty lost as to how everything works and fits together. I'm sure it's here somewhere but I just haven't found it yet....

Great question! The ecosystem is like an evolving onion. It’s useful to think of it in terms of layers.

Layer 0 is the people, the community that uses the technology. The layer 0 is the foundation and goes beyond Hive to other platforms.

Then you have Layer 1, which is Hive’s governance, immutable text storage, Hive coin wallet transaction layer.

Layer 2 is the apps built on top of Hive, like you listed. Hive-Engine provides smart contracts and 2nd layer tokens like LEO and CTP. Layer 2 includes Tribes and dApps like LeoFinance.io, STEMGeeks, and 3Speak.co.

Hope this helps paint the picture! Let me know if you have more questions, happy to answer them.
