Biometric Login For Hive! New Concept To Simplify Key Managment For New Users! What Do You Think About The Idea!?!

So the idea is simple.
Use youre finerprint to log in any hive dapp or app.

How to make that possible?

I am not shure...
Maybe adding it to the hive key chain would be an option.

The idea is to make it much more easy for new users to log in and ethen more important, store their keys.
I am convinced that the avarege user will use this is likely as it would be a more straight forward process.

I know it would not be the sollution for most of us, but thinking about new users, and how they strugle to get started in the beginnings,- it would make it easyer.

Of course the problem would be how to make it secure and rellyable, but I am shure tgat we have some verry passionate intelligent builders among us hahaha 😆

Hive deffinetly has the potential to adopt the mass, as this feature could be added to all the dapps and apps at once.

A way to do this would also be adding biometric login to hivesigner.

Now let me know youre thoughts about the idea, and maybe something grate evolves on the idea!

That's really interesting. I wonder if they can access the biometric data from our phones directly if we log in that way.

Not really... The Android OS prevents any app unauthorized access to your fingerprint. Whenever a finger is scanned when an app is requesting it, the OS simply returns "valid" or "invalid" to the requesting app.

That said, logging in by fingerprint means that our Hive private keys are stored unencrypted on the phone. Pattern-based login to Hive is much more secure. 🕵️‍♂️

It's a great idea and maybe in 2025 it will be just as you wrote ... and not just HIVE, but other projects may have adopted this technique

Logging in by fingerprint means that our Hive private keys are stored unencrypted on the phone. Pattern-based or password-based login (to Hive dapps or any other non-Hive app on your phone) is much more secure, since the decryption key for the Hive private keys is derived from the pattern/password itself. 🕵️‍♂️

If the device is only a gateway to a synced device/wallet holding keys in encrypted manner then fingerprint security is only to approve the wallets request to unencrypted keys and sign 😉 it’s in the works I hear

That's a good concept. However, the target sync device still has to store the unencrypted keys, and that have to be at least as secure as the device you are using.

If you can manage to get this going it would be another pathway to make it easier for non technical users to manage their keys. Worth doing imho

It is easy, you can use coinbase to recive and send bitcoin, also you can get it to youre bankacount, so it is a nice way to get this payouts into youre bank, if so desired. About the berries, it is just a metaphore for you can suport me now by funding in tiny amounts.

It's a good idea and I think it would take more time, or maybe months and years before it would be possible. That is I think if they would accept the idea and apply it to the community. Beginnings are really hard, but the results are always worth it.

I need to learn from you. I just visited your blog before I got here and intended to leave a comment, and this is what I thought. Although I think being active in the comment section takes a lot of your time, I still can't believe how you do it.

I need to work more on my blog to have regular readers/followers and to better reward them as well.
