Yes it is a very intricate design. I never knew each Aussie state had their own official badge until I got this coin.

How many states are there in Australia?

@silversaver888, Australia has six states:

  • New South Wales,
  • Queensland,
  • South Australia,
  • Tasmania,
  • Victoria, and
  • Western Australia.

However it also has three internal territories:

  • the Australian Capital Territory,
  • the Jervis Bay Territory, and
  • the Northern Territory.

It also has seven external territories/islands:

  • Ashmore and Cartier Islands,
  • the Australian Antarctic Territory,
  • Christmas Island,
  • the Cocos (Keeling) Islands,
  • the Coral Sea Islands,
  • Heard Island and McDonald Islands, and
  • Norfolk Island.

So a fair bit to look after and govern. 🙂
