What is the best (read: easiest) way of buying HIVE today?

Although there is nothing better than earning Hive tokens through content creation and curation, it is nice to add some from time to time by purchasing from the markets.

Which got me thinking:

What is the best way of buying Hive tokens these days?

I know there is Binance and all of the major crypto exchanges but it can be a hassle exchanging fiat or some other crypto into BTC before exchanging for Hive.

Ideally, I would like to avoid the step of having to use BTC as the gateway into Hive (it might have something to do with the fact that I hate parting with any BTC - even if it is for Hive!).

I remember back in the 'S-word' days that I would use @blocktrades to transfer say LTC directly into S-word and then power it up. The process was nice and simple. is this still a feasible way of buying Hive directly using cryptos like LTC?

On @peakd I can see an exchange called simpleswap.io - does anyone use this? Is it any good? Why choose this over Blocktrades? What are the rates like (are they competitive)?

Any suggestions welcomed as the more buying of Hive we all do, well..., you know the rest....

Not financial advice.

I couldn't agree more. It makes me very sad when I see the BTC I converted to Steem back in the day. 😂

I'd prefer a simpler way to buy Hive too so I'll be interested to see what replies you get to your questions.

Looks like we're going to be left in the dark as there are no further suggestions unfortunately! 😂

That's disappointing.

Looks like it's Bitrex, Binance or Kraken then. I don't have an account with any of those and don't particularly one to make one. My crypto life is already way too complicated for my liking. 😂

It's a shame there's no search function on Leo Finance. Maybe someone has written about SimpleSwap.

On Reddit I found this:

"SimpleSwap won't send your coins if exchange rates change unfavorably for them, and will hold onto your coins waiting for them to improve in their favor. Otherwise they hold them hostage unless you want to accept fewer coins. Customer service will make up lies as needed."

And a number of other similar experiences so I wouldn't use them.

Many thanks for the tip on simple swap, doesn't sound good. Looks like I'll have to stick with the usual suspects! Thanks again.
