This isn't going so good - Getting out of the Gig-Economy - The restart
This is my last #noloafingmoney post on this platform. If you want to continue to follow along you can head over here
There were a number of things that happened in January that prevented me from focusing on this goal. Most of the challenges had to do with the paying gigs that I had at the time themselves. I had to get the money so that I had a bit of a runway to get this project off the ground.
Then the pandemic came
Now its even harder to keep everything going, but I have a revised plan. For the next long while I will be spending at least 3 hours a day working toward building the product that I can scale AND marketing for more gig projects.
The thinking is that content marketing is the way to both build my list and get more gig projects. So for the next month, that's what I'm focusing on. I plan to build a small course that will give me something to sell. The course will be built from the series of tutorials that I'm putting together for the website.
The updates will likely be sporadic, but I will make them as often as I think is reasonable.
The goal
The goal is to build a product or series of products that allows me to scale. The financial goal is to build a business that has a monthly revenue stream of $5k with less than 20hrs worked on average by the end of March 2020.
The Why
If this is your first time here, thanks for stopping by. I wrote my first post on this topic in November 2019. They all have a "special" tag, so you can find them all here: #noloafing. If you want to see where this all started, its with this post, Money and the Gig-Economy.
How I'm Doing
Hours worked: 29.5hrs
Revenue: $0
Expenses: $0

Thanks.
Something that I realized last week was that I'm not very good at creating the video content I need to accompany my courses. So I've started building short explainer type videos that go with my content. They are for members only and help me find my voice/style.
I'm planning to have 2 long form posts a week.
More wisdom
Something that the pandemic has taught me is that you can't have too many baskets. For a long time I have had one large point of revenue without diversity. To that, I'm planning to use Hive and to a lesser extent Steem to build up my needed monthly revenue. I already hang out here, so I might as well build it up as a platform.
Great plan, and yeah we do need diversity, but also not diversify too quickly, build one thing and make it good then add one more, that is my experience anyways, stay awesome.
