Important Business Integration Development for Steem-Engine via CTP Tribe: Instant Payment Notifications

Although not yet ready, @jongolson broke the fantastic news at @pennsif's TRIBE.Talk that they are working to add support for Instant Payment Notifications (IPN) for the CTP token.

For those who have used IPNs as developers or website admins in the past, you know how important that is. I don't have to tell you that.

If you don't know what an IPN is, let's just say that's the way Paypal or other smaller payment processors use to talk to websites (so online businesses), to let them know a payment has been made, after an on-site purchase has been made.

Do you see how important this is?

Not only will members of various partners of ClickTrackProfit be able to purchase services or products using the CTP token, once the IPN system will be ready and they will implement it on their websites, but I don't see why other tokens cannot be supported as well in the future, or a IPN system be introduced by other projects.

This is one step forward in replacing Paypal (and fiat?) as a go-to place for transacting online!

In our case, Steem-Engine back-end will likely replace Paypal in the equation, and CTP token (and potentially other tokens) will replace fiat transactions. And all at no fees, unlike Paypal!

I also don't see why we won't be able to have this at Steem level, or maybe at least at SMT level.

As I wrote in a post a few days ago, all it takes is one project in the entire ecosystem to really take off to have mass adoption.

But also, all it takes is one or a few great ideas to spawn somewhere in the ecosystem and be adopted widely and rapidly, to kick off the adoption rate.
