Neighborhood Walk

We love walking around our neighborhood. However, I hardly take photos, as for me, I have no lovely sceneries to share. It's mainly buildings -- old and new, tall and short. Some places are pretty crowded, all bustling with activities everywhere. That's the city life. It has been my life for many years now. (PS. That's one reason we love going out of town for our local travels -- to get closer to nature.)

Anyway, despite the hustle and bustle of city life, let me share with you my neighborhood mall, Lucky Chinatown Mall. I live within 650 meters from the said mall. It usually takes us a maximum of ten minutes to get to it. However, we're not mall rats, so we just happen to go whenever we wanted to watch a movie or we needed to buy some groceries.

I remember the early days of the mall when it was not too crowded. It had a perfect spot for walking. They called it Chinatown Walk.

The area looked so fresh and clean in the early days. No crowds at all. Plus, I loved how they decorated the area in preparation for the coming holidays. In case you don't know, we start welcoming the Christmas season as early as September.

The mall has a bridge at the second and third level, where I took the aerial photos of the Chinatown Walk. Here's another shot from another angle.

Nowadays, it is quite rare to see the mall and the area surrounding it this empty. It has become truly crowded in the recent years. I have mixed emotions on that. On one hand, I'm glad the mall has become popular. That means it will stay for a long time. That's good news as we live nearby. On the other hand, that also means we couldn't enjoy it anymore like before.

A huge advantage of living nearby is that we could stay until night to take some awesome night photography of the Chinatown Walk. I love the hanging lanterns that lit up the walk.

The main attraction that we were waiting to take photos of was the huge lantern Christmas tree. It looked so good all lit up. Voila!

I hope you enjoyed the lovely walk featured today. We sure did a lot of walking just to take awesome photos.

PS. They change the decorations on the walk every year, so it really looks different now.
