History in the making!

In case you haven't noticed, updates from @steemitblog and Steemit.Inc regarding the progress being made on communities and SMT's arrive a lot more frequently than the past few weeks.

You know what that means, right?

That after each update we are one step closer to the official release of both communities and SMT's which is the hottest topic currently. And it's absolutely normal if you ask me. People have been waiting for this for so long...

And since I've been asked a lot about how I think this whole thing will play out, here's my take...

It's gonna be freaking awesome!!!

Anyone will be able to create their own community. It could be about basketball..about golf...about barbecue (check @exyle's) about 3D animation...about your stupid neighbor...about the moon...you name it.

And here's the most interesting part. Those in charge of the communities will be able to create their own SMT and through the exact same process - upvotes- will reward those that contribute valuable posts to that very community.

Are there any limitations?

Of course not...one will be able to join as many communities as they like. Joining a community is one thing though, while being able to produce something of value, is another...So finding what suits you best will be the wisest thing one can do.

Tribes kinda work this way...

There are Tribes that "support" almost every kind of content while at the same time others are way more...niche. For example, one can use the "palnet" tag on his travel blog post...but NOT the "steemleo" tag which is a Tribe whose users support everything that has to do with investments. Oh well, one can use it...but they expect some all their LEO rewards to be removed via downvoting.

Same will apply for communities. You can't join a travel community, post pictures from your cats and expect to be rewarded with their SMT...

Opportunities for everyone!

You might feel that you post is under-rewarded when it comes to STEEM payouts. And in many cases it might be true. But that won't matter in the future, when SMT's will be finally here. I'll use @steem.leo Tribe once again as an example.

There are posts under the "steemleo" tag whose authors are doing a great job and provide some top notch cntent for that Tribe. Obviously they are reaping the rewards on LEO but at the same time their STEEM payouts roughly cross the 2$ mark.

They don't care! What they care for is to collect as many LEO tokens as possible and give value to the token.

I don't really think that this is going to change when SMT's will be officially released. Everyone's focus will be on making their SMT valuable.

Add to that the fact that not every post will be rewarded with tokens out of one massive reward pool, exactly the way it is happening now and you have almost the full picture.

How will communities and SMT's can positively affect the price of STEEM?

Simply because RC delegations WILL be a thing then, and because every action on the chain has a cost, simple users / community owners / apps will be "forced" to buy and stake STEEM if they want to interact with the chain.

Big apps will be able to delegate their RC's to their users to keep everyone happy...

The rest will follow...the biggest the demand for RC's the higher the price of STEEM...

Still have doubts?

History in the making....

Have a great one people...and keep dreaming BIG.

I am so glad I have a decent stake in steam already... And honestly I feel like I still need so much more 😭I am addicted to this.. I am also currently constantly buying small amounts of steem in order to power up because of the RCs.

Thanks though I was a bit confused with the whole SMT thing. Not sure what it was about.. But this really cleared it up hey..

We definitely need a change on Steem, and moving the social aspect to communities... I hope that SMTs will help to both parties, STEEM and communities... And we will see how will tribes develop...

Anyways, interesting times are coming to our chain...

People will be selling SMTs and steem which will put the downward pressure on tokens. The same as now. If communities don't find some kind of new model of course.

And that’s were some serious moderation in order for tokens to land on “good” hands, comes into play. That could be a solution

Yeah I can't wait for communities as it's awesome to see the bar that has already been set for new communities by some of the existing communities already on the platform.

Things use to be simple, now you need a lawyer to figure things out ....

I won't argue with that...let's just hope that things will be a lot easier in the future...
