Do you really think that your money is safe just because you keep it in the bank? Well, think again...

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where there is so much negativity in the air that you can almost...touch it?

And I ain't talking about incidents and circumstances while you are at work, involving your colleagues or your employer that you despise so much and the one thing in your mind is to chop off his head with an ax.

But even from close friends and especially...family members. Today was my day off...

And all I could think of from the night before was to grab a couple of hours extra sleep and spend the day outdoors enjoying some pretty simple stuff.

A walk on the beach with my gf and a few minutes of swimming...In case you didn't know I swim through winter. Anyway...

A cup of coffee while emptying my mind later on...

Maybe a nice lunch at some fine restaurant. Haven't done that in ages...

You know, all these simple pleasures that make you feel alive...

But hey...Whenever you make plans...God is laughing... that is a saying we often use here, one that pretty much summarizes the story of my life...

So instead of all the above, I received this phone call from my father around 8:30 AM.

-Can you plz come by? It is urgent.

-Dad?

-Ding ding ding...just like that he hanged it up. Panic mode ON.

Semi dressed I jumped into the car -thankfully we live close to each other- and I was there in less than ten minutes.

-So what going on?

Long story short, he received a call from the bank less than 15 minutes prior to his phone call to me that someone used a fake credit card and made a 1000 Euro withdrawal from his account using an ATM located 40 miles away from where we live.

It appears that a fucking gang somehow managed to hack 15.000 credit cards, made copies and guess what...my father was amongst the lucky ones!

Now all we had to do is to gather a ton of his personal documents along with hard copies after visiting almost every single public service in town...and drive 40 miles to the other edge of the city in the hope that we will get our money back.

In order for that to happen they had to take the blame for all this mess...Fascinating way to spend your day off don't you think?

Some hours later we were there...

It was just us and....a couple of hundred others for the very same reason...

-"They knew there was an exploit at their system...they just knew it...otherwise they wouldn't have called you in the first place. Don't worry...You'll get your money back old man..."

Well, at some point it was our turn...we walked into the manager's office and there was a new set of paperwork we should fill...

They blocked the existing credit card of course...issued a new one...

Thirty minutes later we were back in the car on our way home with a promise that within the next 48 hours the money will be back in place...

So here I am...writing these lines while it is almost 2AM.

About two hours ago, my father attempted to check his bank account using a specific app...just in case....

And guess what...They refunded him...till the very last penny. Would you believe that?

This time...

To be honest with you all...I don't know if that will be the case for all those people I witnessed there today...but I really hope that they will all be refunded...I really do.

Do you really think that your funds are safe just because you keep it in the bank? Think again...

I'll try to find a link so that you can read about this whole thing. It was all over the news today...although I highly doubt that you can understand the Greek language...

Anyway...this is how I spent my day off...

How about you?

No, there will be no refunds when the big one hits.

Fun weekend.

Yeah...I was thinking the same...It's not an "if" they strike again...rather than "when" will they do it again...

Have a good one mate!

Yet another reminder that I really should keep more cash on hand.

And I have to admit that I’m a bit surprised that people in Greece would still have any faith in banks, after what they’ve been through over the last few years.

To be fair it looks like it was a credit card cash advance in this particular case. But yeah obvious people still have money in the bank in Greece... even though they maybe shouldn't.

D’oh! For some reason, I was thinking it was a debit card rather than a credit card.

Nobody trusts the banks in Greece tbh. Literally no one...But somehow people should receive pensions and salaries. Well, when those bank accounts are connected to a credit card...this is the outcome...

I know the feeling, when there is so much negativity in the air that you can almost touch it and it doesn't help if you could use this thick air as a staircase, where you can take a deep breath upstairs. Because in this Panic mode 😰😨 you have no chance to a couple of hours extra sleep and that doesn't also make your daydreams ⛱💑 come true.
Poor mindtrap! Pooh, 1000 euros, what a shock for your father and also for you 😓🥴😬! Paah, all this time and the intense emotions 🤢😩.
You know, you were very dear to your father, your father will appreciate you very much and I will do that too 👍.
Oh dear, almost 2 o'clock. I would love to upvote you and give you a few hours with this upvote. Darn, why can't I do that.
But I am so happy for you that your father got it all back 🌟🌈🥰😎
I actually think that here it is relatively safe with the banks 🤔. I would be more scared if I had money at home or in my wallet .

Your money doesn't exist unless you use crypto or physical assets the only benefit to this is it's very easy for the bankers to charge back your fiat currency to you so your fiat currency is always safe in the bank but using fiat currency only keeps you enslaved by the central banking Ponzi scheme
