Samsung have decided to actually move some cell phone creation to Vietnam due to coronavirus

Samsung Electronics (KS:005930) said on Friday that it would incidentally move some cell phone creation to Vietnam from South Korea after another of its Korean staff tried positive for the coronavirus, compelling it to close a processing plant.

An organization representative said the gathering had suspended activities at its production line in the southern city of Gumi in South Korea after a laborer tried positive for the infection.

The plant, which makes Samsung's excellent telephones like S20 and Z Flip foldable telephones, will continue creation on Saturday, she said.

Since late February, a sum of six laborers have tried positive at the manufacturing plant complex in Gumi, near the city of Daegu - the focal point of South Korea's infection flare-up - prompting past brief terminations at the plant.

The transition to move yield of "some premium cell phones" to Vietnam "expects to supply items to purchasers in increasingly compelling, steady and opportune way," Samsung said in an announcement.

"When the COVID-19 circumstance balances out, we intend to move back the yield to Gumi," it said.

Samsung has just moved quite a bit of its cell phone creation to Vietnam over the previous decade, where it makes over half of its telephones and has so far observed little creation disturbance. Its Gumi processing plant compensates for a little segment of its complete yield.

Samsung on Friday propelled its S20 lead cell phones all around as planned in the midst of worries that the infection would scratch interest for premium telephones at home and abroad markets.
